They weren't exactly presents because I had to pay for them, but I got my half of each of the Reactivate sets that I split with a friend just in time for Christmas.
These figures are pretty good, especially Prime. I think they will be my IDW reps from now on.

I got out of the house to do my Boxing Day Transformers hunt at 10:30AM. I took the bus to the shopping center. Saturday schedule. Only to find out that by law, all stores opened today at 1PM! Oh joy. With lots of waiting around, especially for the damn busses that were at the HOUR, I came back with a few things.
The ROTB "basic" Optimus with his blue wolf blade thing. At a true clearance price from Canadian Tire.
Legacy United Core Energon Megatron and Deluxe Magneous from GameStop. No sale at all, but at least I got them around SIX MONTHS earlier than my Amazon preorder.
Finally, at my local geek store, SS Sideways that was 20% off, bringing this down to the normal big retail price with no taxes.
Also, GameStop gave these useless thumbs things for controllers with any purchases, and I got myself some European chocolate on the way.
Now, I just want to lay down and rest.

Now if I could just find a Studio Series Snarl at a reasonable price. Sucks when the previous figures in a set are easy to find (not so much Grimlock now, but at the time he was everywhere) yet I've never seen Snarl in person and the online stores have long since dried up. Not entirely surprising, all of the 2023 SS Leaders (Scourge, Snarl and Optimus Primal) have been in short supply, I haven't seen any of them in stores. Meanwhile all of the 2022 SS Leaders (Starscream, Sludge and the Fallen) have been on clearance and can still be found discounted.

I have not seen a single 2023 SS leader at a store this year, i can only find Blitzwings and Starscreams with some random Armada Megatrons.
Also helps my decision to sell my SS86 leader dinobots minus Sludge, I can probably get a good chunk for Grimlock, Slug, and Snarl.

Cybertron Vector Prime with Safeguard and deluxe Unicron, two more exciting figures my childhood self dreamed of now finally in my hands! Joined by Gamer Optimus, ROTB Mirage, and a surprise United Chase, a little earlier than I was expecting! Also, a book on Mal Evans, the longtime road manager and friend of the Beatles, my other favourite subject.
In the wind-down after Christmas I was able to finally get to Buzzworthy Tow-Line, Gamer Bumblebee, Masterpiece Suiken, and Gamer Cliffjumper, who is technically my first Transformer of 2024 due to being opened on New Year's Day. I also got the DNA kits for Velocitron Scourge and Legacy Prowl, which I had had preordered for months, so it was great when they came in stock together.

FedEx dropped off my cartoon deco Soundwave reissue from Walmart today (Blaster is in the mail from Pulse, might be here Monday). I love him! The box is nice, but very flimsy, if I found one in stores on clearance in good shape I'd buy another to keep in box (mine isn't in great shape since in shipped in a bag). He looks exactly like the stock photos we saw previously, but interestingly the pictures on the box show him with chromed parts like the original. I'm surprised they went with stickers on Laserbeak, I thought for sure they'd remove them in place of tampographs since he has the only stickers in the set.
Overall I'm really happy with the way he turned out.
