Police Academy had seven, and it got worse each time.
The only series allowed to get away with it is Harry Potter, because A) It makes shitloads of money, B) It's an insanely popular family franchise (And getting less and less with each movie!) and C) It's an adaptation of a seven book franchise.
No, three movies is enough.

yes Star trek had no actual book line thatg the movies followed.. and Police Academy is totally a low budget funny movie franchise that went on way too long..
Harry potter had a successful book before the movie was done, and there were and still are quality actors in that series, not to mention the big budget effects.. and the fandoms...
In a way Transformers G-1 is the "Books" that can be followed, and were built apon in the unicron trilogy.. Armada had the coming of Unicron, the death of Optimus and rebirth, the whole megatron to galvatron thing.. and countless other references, not to mention the energon series and the star saber copies, ect... ect..
all I'm saying is if Harry Potter can do it in 7 why not Transformers in 10..??
besides if they get old in the theaters, its okay.. its in the DVD market where it strives dfor years to come...especially with Blue ray, and HD coming out..
As long as they stick to the G-1 formula, have good actors, and great CGI with epic battles, the series could possibly survive to 10 movies.. 5 would be fine, but I say go the long haul and do 10..!!

Born Yesterday wrote:Since the human characters dont really matter in the long run, there can be as many Transformers movies as they want if you really think about it. CGI characters never grow old.

I really doubt that if they go past TF3 that the movies are going to be any good at all.
Sequels are notorious for sucking.
But if they could make well done original movies they could go to TF10 for all I care.

Now thats the spirit, do each sequel as great as the rest, or treat it like a totally new movie all together.. that's another reason i say do it in Story arcs, so that the story has a beginning, Middle, and end... 10 movies would actually have one giant story arc stretched out over time, with a little here and there dropped in to each sequel and trilogy story arc until the final huge battle at the 10th movie which wraps the whole series and franchise up for good!!
Shadowman wrote:The problem is that, by ten movies, people are saying "GOD, another one?!" Much in the same way a lot of people here sai the same thing about Harry Potter.
