Alien rampage contest

Postby Evank_Horizon » Sat Nov 10, 2007 7:50 pm

Battleground: A heavily populated human world with mild defences.

The contestants:
The Zergs
The Xenomorphs (Alien)
The Tyranids (don't call them the nids because there's also:)
The Arachnids (Starship Troopers. For those who don't know: they can enter human bodies and control them.)

All team start their invasion at the same time with an equivalent number of un-individuals in a favorable land.

First round: Who kills more humans
Second round: Who wins the war against the other species.

Xenomorphs on all counts.

Purely because they all bleed molecular-based, highly concentrated acid.

Zergs are for powerful, especially they have more abilities. The zerg forces are combined aliens. They can mind control(Infested Terran or whatever, they have acids, the zerg queen will make you into a broodling, and they have withstand the previous war on starcraft. They are still on starcraft 2.

so consider this victory for the zergs.

I'm actually gonna go with the Tyranids.

They got the goods. Hive Tyrants, Broodlords, Carnifexes...

Better yet, they have a few special characters. Old One Eye, The Red Terror, and The Death Leaper.

Heck, even Genestealers and Raveners could hold their own.

Agreed, though the Zerg would be a close second.

Aliens FTW. All the reasons already posted plus the way breed like crazy. Imagine if the facehuggers could attach to any of the

The Zerg would be a close seconds. They would seem to have a more focused approch and a larger variety of warriors but Aliens would just sneak in a win at the end.

Tyranids because the more they kill the more troops they get plus after a few engagments the tyranids will have the best aspects of all the aliens here rooled into one nice ravonous package.plus numbers are not a problem as a hive vessel has millions of beasties in storage and there are also the vanguard organisms that infultrate a world before the invasion starts, not to mention the human worshippers who fight for rhe hive mind! All hail the hive mind... All hail the hive mind!

Yep I'll say it: SST 2

I don't know much about the whole mytho but it is well the oldest of the lot. Starship troopers dates back to 1959.

here's some info about the Arachnids: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bug_%28Sta ... roopers%29

The Tyranids: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyranids

The Xenomorphs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenomorph_%28Alien%29

The Zergs:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zerg

My bet is on the Tyranids. They have bioengineered weapons and can keep the xenomorphs' blood at bay. They also seem more cohesive than the xenomorphs.

The Xenomorhs would probably be slow starters compared to the others. I say they lose.
Next the Arachnids, although they have a great diversity, their tactics are a little too random.
The contestants to the podium would be the zerg. Their bio technology and divertity are great but they don't match the tyranids yet. But that may change once SC2 comes out...

going over the Zergs info given it seems that they are just a rip of the tyranids with a different history. plus i'm guessing that the tyranids came first as they where part of the space hulk game way back in the early 80's or late 70's (i'd need to check WD300) but i still stick to these creatures from the void.

If we're talking about book Arachnids... I'd say they would kill the most humans, and probably at least achieve MAD against the Tyranids. Mainly on account of their massed nuclear weapons.

Since we're not, everyone falls to the Tyranid swarm.
I feel awful... stooping to such petty crimes.

Space Hulk dates back to 1989. It was built around the world of Warhammer 40000 wich was some kind of SF version of Warhammer Fantasy wich inspired warcraft and was inspired most probably by the lord of the rings and the elves of Wh40k are called Eldars like Tolkien's high elves. I have no doubt that starcraft is actually based on warhammer 40000. In fact the head of WH40k developement is also the head Starcraft II's development!

If you followed me on that one, you too will say: "Thank you Tolkien!"
