Anyone know if the Dinobots will get a reissue?

A perfect example of HasTak's poor choices is the recent swoop ko, selling for $100+, and people seem to be paying it. Why couldn't hasbro or taktomy make that decision to reissue something like that? "oh, we lost the mold and it wouldn't be cost effective to make a new one". This ko appears to be a new mold, and the profits people are making off of it is ridiculous. I bet the company that is making them is selling it to retailers for $30-$40usd(probably a very good profit for them), and the retailers turn around and sell it for a major profit. In the future, I think the only chance for HasTak reissues is from Hasbro. If soundwave does well enough, and if the movie does well enough, they may put out some reissues after the "movie craze". Tomy was the death of reissues in Japan(if reissues in Japan were going to continue, they would not have missed a NewYears reissue, and big reissues were Takara's favorite thing)

But do we know that for sure?
I see a lot of people assuming reissues are a big business and have generated a fair bit of money for Takara.
Didn't they merge with Tomy to save themselve from going bankrupt?![]()
That aside. SOME of the TCS reissues were and are hard to come by, but I still a number of them readily available on E-Bay. So I have to wonder just how well the TCS line sold for Takara.
I think Takara was suffering losses a while ago but managed to get out of the slump before they merged (taken over). Tomy definitely has the larger pockets, though.

I've been reading a lot of rumors lately that Takara may still release the Dinobots re-issue and in gift set form. I haven't found anything to back up these claims yet but it would stand to reason that, as far as popular characters yet to be re-released, if Takara did resume re-issues again, these would be most likely next.

I was just wondering. Wat was the last New Years Reissue? Predaking??

I don't know why someone would bid this high on a ko swoop http://cgi.ebay.com/Transformers-G1-Aut ... dZViewItem when there are b.i.n's for $30 cheaper? http://cgi.ebay.com/TRANSFORMERS-DINOBO ... dZViewItem

Actually the auction:http://cgi.ebay.com/Transformers-G1-Autobot-Dinobot-Swoop-Sealed-MISB-MIB_W0QQitemZ120087828356QQihZ002QQcategoryZ4696QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem may be a fake. This seller has wriiten in some of their other listings that some of the items could be knock offs. I don't feel comfortable enough with their description to call this one an original MISB. I find the seller's authenticity of their items questionable. Check out their listing for a $99 MISB G1 Optimus Prime:http://cgi.ebay.com/G1-Transformers-Optimus-Prime-Mint-MIMB-MIB-Boxed-US_W0QQitemZ120089486254QQihZ002QQcategoryZ4696QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem. Now considering the TRU reissues go for anywhere from $199.99 to $299.99 this is the deal of the century or something isn't right. Notice in the description, "This may be a Highest Possible China Reproduction or maybe knock off. We Compare it to the original Prime, it's 95%+ Looks the same, and it has Hasbro logo on the toy itself. and on the box it says 1984. I hardly can tell what is the differents. It's a must for Optimus Prime Collector."

No clue about the KO Swoop thing, but that prime looks pretty authentic to me. Even if it was a KO, it would still be an awsome piece to have. I have a G1 MISB AFA graded Prime anyways, but still, it would be nice to have on display.

I just have a thing about not supporting Knock Offs and I feel that seller is trying to pass these off as official and something seems not quite right about those listings. If I am going to pay that much for a Transformer I'd want to be sure I was getting a first generation or at least a real re-issue and they seem unsure if it's either.

Hmmm, in that case I'm not sure what to tell ya. I remember Tformers doing comparisons of the two (KO and G1) MISB to show the differences. Maybe do a search on their site and see what you can come up with. Or wait 'til JelZe shows up to school us all.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to see if I can find that. I'd be interested to see the differences.

i for one would spend a good amount of money on reissue dinobots. Ebay ends up having em for huge amounts of money. I think takara would stand to make a decent profit if they reissued em

I think the sellers are covering themselves because they know these are KO rather than official, I think they are reducing the possibility of having the ebay listings removed. They cant say 'real' as thay know thats not true but if they say 'this is KO' (one which is very similar to original) maybe they can have legal issues from selling them. They assume most people looking at these know what they are.

I'll list them by series. (that we have of in the galleries.) All of the Characters denoted with an Asterix were on a show, if only for one episode and two for an appearence in a comic.
Convention and club exclusives:
Arcee**
Chromia**
Flamewar**
Flareup**
Glyph**
Roulette**
Shadow Striker**
Beast Wars
Airrazor*
Blackarachnia*
Beast Wars II
Scylla*
Beast Wars Transmetals
Airrazor
Blackarachina*
Beast Machines
Blackarachnia*
Strika*
Armada/Micron Legend
Airrazor**
Armorhide**
Cliffjumper**
Sureshock**
there could be more femini-cons, but I can't recall them
Energon/Superlink
Arcee*
Ariel*
Paradron Medic*
Sureshock*
Cybertron/Galaxy Force
Override/Override GTS*/** Note-Override was a male Character named Nitro Convoy
Thunderblast*
There are other female characters that have been given a toy form. Minerva from Super God MasterForce (Seibertron will have a gallery of that up very shortly. I'm not sure if Botanica from BM ever got a toy made of her. There was also the G1 Arcee prototype that I was lucky enough to own for about 5 years. G1 Arcee also has a heros of Cybertron PVC figure and some un-official figres, such as Cyberfembot.coms A.R.C. model kits. which by the way, are fantastic. It is basically a movie accurate Arcee with a transforming head master (daniel) and the guns she uses in the movie. There has recently been reports of a WST Arcee floating around, so I'm sure we'll all see that soon. RID had Tai, who had a small figure made of her playing in water with Skybite and RID Prime looking over a rock. There was also the girl from BWII who ended up getting a robot form, but again, I don't think a figure ever came our of it. The other fembots from G1 were Elita-1, Firestar, Chromia, Moonracer, and I want to say Nightbird. She was a fembot made on earth though.
I think that's it for fembots... I think. Hope that helps.
