Are any of the Scout Class Cybertron figures worth owning?

Postby twee » Fri Sep 07, 2007 2:34 am

This whole week, that's all I've been seeing at Walmarts and TRUs, and since my hunt for TFs is slowly but surely dying down, I figure these are a good remedy for that.

I'm hearing about the awesomeness of Armorhide, which I just saw at TRU yesterday, but how about the others?

Or how about Scout Classes in general, are they really worth it, or should I spend an extra dollar or two and buy the rest of the Real Gear line instead?

I dislike Real Gear. Go for the Scout Class. Armouhide is indeed awesome. I'm really envious that Australia doesn't get any extra stock of Cybertron toys. Sigh...

Yeah skip the Real Gear they all look like shite. As for Cybertron scouts Sprapmetal is a nice figure and if you liked the show I'm sure you'd want to pick up Ransack, those aside I can't really say I was awfully taken with them. The Scout class are largely cheap throw-away figures, there's a few diamonds in the rough but most are pretty uninspiring.

I already have a ton of Real Gears, notably Meantime and High Score, the former of which is probably my second favorite toy of the Movie line.

So if you say they suck, your opinions are dead to me.

Scrap Metal, Armorhide and Hardtop were the only 3 that really did anything for me... the rest that I bought (Brakedown,Ransack,Wreckloose,Undermine) I usually regreted buying within hours of opening.

I never picked him up (mainly cause by that time I was sick of the whole line) but some around here get all twittery about Shortround.
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.
Needless to say, they are not those of SEIBERTRON.COM, its staff members, or any other site lackeys.
Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.

Wow, no love for the RGs? I think that most of them are great. Booster X10 and Spy Shot are must-haves.

As far as Cyb Scouts, I would say that the must-owns are:

Scattorshot(He's fantastic...not much leg articulation, but tons of hidden weaponry and great detail, overall a great-looking and highly-playable Scout. Also good for troop-building.)

Hardtop/Swindle
Armorhide
Scrapmetal(All for reasons already stated.)

Ransack(or GTS) and Shortround are both pretty cool as well.
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

Botcon 2009--Souvenir Sweeps
Botcon 2010--Souvenirs Rapido, Scorch/Shattered Glass Ravage

MISP preferred, but will consider opened NM/Complete, especially for older figures. Lots of TFs for trade! Please PM any inquiries, serious interest only!

Definite YES for Swerve, Brakedown and Scattershot.

Overhaul, Hightail, Ransack GTS and Shortround are all worth considering.

Go for the Target movie scout versions of Hardtop and Armorhide.

Hardtop is a really nice figure, try to get that one. I also recommend Scattorshot. He's fully armed. dual missile launchers, and a double barreled gun. As well as the key activated missile pods. He's a nifty little guy

you can also try and get Breakdown. he's pretty cool. in both modes.

The Cybertron scout class are splendid figures!

I own Ransack GTS, Brakedown GTS, Swerve, Scattorshot and Red Scrapmetal.

I'dve bought more, but that's all that I've seen round where I live.

There are some brilliant figures in the Cybertron Scout line, but discredit the real gear line at your own peril.
Not only are they the best made figures of the movie line, but they have some of the more ingenious transformations for a scout sized figure that have been made.
I recommend High Score, Speeddial, Booster X10 and of course Meantime.

AS for Cybertron, Armourhide is the star of the scout class, Shortround, Brakedown, Swerve, Scattorshot, Scrapmetal and Ransack are also worth a purchase. I also like Backstop and Repugnus, but they are not very popular with many other fans.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

Because Landmine isn't a Cybertron SCOUT. He's Deluxe.

Wreckloose is actually pretty damn good. As much as I like the Undermine mold (I have all three variations), he's probably the best of the Jungle Planet Scouts. A bit quirky, but very well-articulated.

As a robot, Scrapmetal is neat, but I'm less than impressed with his alt mode. All the fan modes he has are a nice compensation.

Armorhide and Shortround must be owned, no question.

I love how Scrapmetal kind of resembles Rumble (not the head but whatever), so I just keep him in that pose, and pretend he's got the piledriver arms. I have the yellow one though.

I just got back, and damn, absolutely everything was gone. Even that one Back Stop that's been at both Walmart and TRU for a good two weeks was gone.

Moreover, it looks like none of the stores here have even received a new shipment this week, which has been probably my most disappointing week in terms of TF hunting. :(

I wonder if any of them will get some stuff in tomorrow. I have to go out to look at apartments anyway.

Armorhide is easily my favorite.

Clocker just annoys me, but his transformation seemed cool the first time.

Brakedown is also really cool ... Indeed. See, I just agreed with myself.

Lugnutz is okay, but he kinda looks like a dwarf "military pressing" a motorcycle.

Once you run across the cyb. deluxes, and you will eventually. Don't get excited when you see Skywarp.(I nearly back flipped) Anyway, cyb. deluxe Skywarp really sucks!

He should go the the "Derek Zoolander Center for Bots That Can't Transform Good" (and would like to do other things with their left arm, too)

Yeah, I've seen all the Cyb Deluxes in stores, and I've bought Excellion and Downshift, but I haven't bothered with Monkey Prime, Megatron, or Skywarp.

I have cybertron scout Swerve, Swindle, Brushguard, RansackGTS, BrakedownGTS, Armorhide, Shortround, the orange Harley(it's 3am :? ) and ... (Leobreaker's brown 4x4...i think he's called Overhaul. Same as Brushguard, but dark brown). Overall, these minibots are quite my favourites. Brushguard's color scheme goes well with Cybertron Mudflap's and some1 else's who escapes my mind now. Swerve definitely rocks with Excellion and Energon/Classics Rodimus(or any autobot tha's red :-? ). Armorhide just rocks. Swindle matches Buzzsaw(Cyclonus repaint) and rocks as hard as Armorhide. I like RansackGTS's color scheme over his original, and it blends with Dark Crumplezone. Shortround's Thunderblast's pet. BrakedownGTS reminds me of Kup. I do not collect beast transformers so i got Overhaul. FINALLY, another scout size motorcycle that'll go with my Energon Arcee.

Good hunting, eh?
