The chrome parts kind of give it away. I think it will be even better without the chrome.

No, I think those are the knockoff figs. Look at the insignia...they look more like the bugbot symbols found on the knockoffs. But it is hard to tell from those photos...

NO, NO NO, these are fricking awful. Do not buy these. They just look good in the pics, not in real life. Autobot, do you own these? If not, please don't BS people into buying junk KOs because you think the pic looks good.

Please see proof.

I own a KO police prowl, below is how I felt about it:

1) Flimsy, loose parts
2) Thin plastic, very lightweight
3) Rough plastic mould finish, some parts cut
4) Parts don't align & seal nicely in alt mode
5) Paint application is bad
6) Smells bad

I got it couple months ago from eBay for $25, after I received it I think it only worths $5, played with it once and it's sitting somewhere at the bottom of storage box ever since.

Personally I would stay away from KO Alternators (note: this does NOT apply to all KOs).

Cheers,

No. I don't own any KO Alternators. I don't encourage people to buy them either.

I'm just saying it will look better without chrome parts. KO chromes are really bad to look at. Some of these KOs without chrome parts look pretty close to the real thing. But of course, the quality of plastic is below acceptable level.

I dunno...I've come around a little on them. I couldn't actually recommend them since they might fall apart on you even if you're careful, but if you know what you're getting ahead of time I think they're ok. What to expect...

They are cheap plastic! You have to treat the things like they're MP Starscream...and even then it might snap on you like my Prowl's arm.
The joints are loose out of the box.
The paint apps are poor.
They're a pain to get all the creases and panels to line up nice.

Basically, yes, they suck...but if you're just looking for something to display or very carefully mess around with, they're not the worst thing ever. I certainly wouldn't spend more than 20 bucks (including shipping) but if you somehow found one in a shop for 10 to 15 bucks, I'd say go for it if you can accept the above. You probably won't find them that cheap, though, so just pay the extra get the real thing.

To make a long post longer, IMO you should be saving more than half what it would cost you for the real thing before even considering them. To me, paying 20 for KO Prowl makes enough sense when it costs like 70 on eBay for the real thing (still have to keep quality in mind, though!) But paying 20 or even 30 for KO Grimlock when you can get him MISB for under 40...makes absolutely no sense to me.

Acutally, this sounds like a resounding bote of approval to me, and it is a compltely false statement, which is how I knew you have never seen these in real life. Theyre is a HUGE difference between them. The KO looks like a KO no matter how rose colored ones glasses may be.

I've never seen the KO Alts in person, but I can tell from pictures of them that they are KOs.
