assembly help....

Postby assemblychallenged » Sat Sep 29, 2007 1:22 pm

Ok I am at my wits end, my son is more than mildly obsessed with Transformers, he's 4. I trolled the internet looking for tips on keeping the 2008 Bumblebee Deluxe assembled...I know it says 5 and up, but I figured I could at least put it together :BANG_HEAD: I sat there and read all like 10 steps for instruction....I am mechanically declined....are there any secrets or tricks to keeping this thing in car form? If he brings it to me like 1 more time i think my brain will implode...HELP!!!!

One thing I found made it difficult on the first transformation was the bits that form the front of the rear whel arches. Without moving them forward, you cnat transform the back half.

Thats from Car to Robot.

If you are doing it the other way round, all I can say is patience and al ittle commen sence and a lot of luck.

Might I recomend picking up some classics for your son. Whilst techically being the same age restriction as the movie toys, they are a lot more young child friendly (and im my humble opinion, a lot more fun).

modern movie BB is a horrible horrible toy to transform. I've 20 years experience with TFs and still have trouble with him and his stupid door. and he has weird arms. I'd say get him the Classics one, as Redimus suggested. Or maybe even the movie Legends one (the tiny ones that have very simplified transformations) would be a good idea?
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

buy him some fast action battlers. they are easier to transform so he should be able to do it himself. Then while he is destracted with his new toy, you can study up and practice on BB.

IMO, the trickiest part is probably the roof. The parts on his lower arms become the roof. If you can get him back to car mode, I would follow the instructions and transform him to robot and back a couple of times (seems easier to go from car to robot) and then you should be close to having it down. Then you can start looking forward to your son bringing him over to you to help as he has a nifty transformation!

I found the roof more fiddly than difficult.

I knew I should have listened when my cousins said how awesome transformers were. LMAO....so where can I get the older versions? I looked at wal mart and got nothing that wasn't new...and EXPENSIVE...i refuse to spend 40 bucks to piss myself off lol....as soon as you think you have it all together...yeah...the roof caves in and it just goes to hell in your hands...and my son...is too young and definitely not that mechanically inclined to do it himself...so where are the easy ones??

if you haven't yet, you can look at youtube reviews (there are tons of them) of concept bb for the transformation, although you'll probably still have to do a lot of fiddling yourself to get the hang of it.

You can still grab a few cybertron and classic figures on hts while there is still a discount. about 8.20 after tax for a classic cliffjumper or something like that should be a good investment. Kids like round little transformers right?

Which part of the transformation is the most challenging?

Will a series of pictures help?

Hasbro's instruction leaflets are almost inadequate.

Outside of the little shoulder clips on his arms(those useless yellow chips) I had no problem with this guy.

Then again I'm 31 and well versed in TFs.

MY tip would be to go out and bet the readily availible Fast Action Battler version, it's better suited for his age. Then slowly take 08 BB away

The shoulders of BB Concept is really quite difficult to transform. Especially from robot to car mode.
