Australia Transformers sightings
Astro Hobby has the Nike Sport Convoy / Megatron toys (only 1 left of each) for $48.40 each.
I picked up a pair. They look a lot better in real life compared to the photos available.
I also saw the Optimus Prime and Starscream movie preview protoform toys at Toyland in Burwood Westfields NSW. They were going for $27.95 each.

You mean Astro Hobby in the Galleries Victoria? You mean they finally have some Transformers stock, other than massively overpriced Armada Laserbeaks and Energon Signal Flare's?
I wont have a chance to get down there until at least Thursday. They will be gone by then for that price.
And so the Protoforms are out and about... Personally Im not interested in them, but since they are movie line figures, what is the quality like on them?
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

Yep - Astro Hobby in The Galleries Victoria.
They have another "sister" store down near Chinatown on George St called Modelling World.
They seem to be the only place in Sydney that I can find that stocks the Japanese Transformers regularly but as you guys have found out - stocks don't last long.
Prices are a little more expensive when compared to buying online. I noticed that they also had a MP-04 there as well but it was going for $368.

Okay, Treasure Island Toy Shop in Warriewood. They've got all sorts of things!
Heaps of protoforms. Classics including Ramjet. A bunch of Energon stuff, some Galaxy Force, some Superlink. It's amazing!
Plus my partner might soon be getting a job there

Warriewood? As in the Warriewood near Narrabeen?
If I drove to work Id go check it out on Thursday night, but thats a long and painful drive.
What kind of Energon stuff do they have there? I have been looking for Prowl (amongst others) for quite some time now.
Im assuming that it is a Japanese style , and not an Uncle Petes style independant Toy Store?
As you said Funkyaw, there is a sister store of Astro hobby, but its worse stocked than Astro is. With the amount of people that pass Astro Hobby It really is no surprise that it goes through the popular stock so quickly.
I wonder if Hobbyco will be getting any... they do tend to surprise with their stock.

Yes, Warriewood near Narabeen. There are big blue signs on Pittwater Road directing you to the shopping centre.
I don't remember exactly what Energon figures they had but there was definitely Downshift, and Ironhide.
It's an Uncle Pete's style independant Toy Store. Not a hobby and japanese import store.

Thanks for the info Spiritocat, I wont be heading out there anytime soon, too much of a hassle for overstocked, and overpriced Energon figures. (The only times I have bought things at Uncle Petes is when they have had sales on Transformers figures, which brings their price down to about 3/4 that of Target and Big W)
Smoore at TAAU has reported finding the Protoform Prime and Starscream at Morwell Target in Victoria, about 100 clicks East of Melbourne.

It seems that Jetfire did indeed get a second wind, my gf found 3 of them at Target in St Mary's NSW yesterday.
Oddly enough it is Grimlock who is now the very hard one to find, whereas Mirage is waaay too overstocked for his own good.

Heading into the city after work today, first time in 3 months.
I am praying to any and every god that will listen that Astro Hobby have magically restocked their Nike Shoe Megatron. I want him more than any other figure at the moment, even more than Thunderclash.
Will report of Hobbyco, and anywhere else I visit as well.

They have also been spotted (and bought) in Western Australia, and Queensland. So if you havent seen them yet, then you should be in the next week or so.

Okay, here we go:
HobbyCo, Pitt St Mall, Sydney:
Movie Protoforms; Prime and Starscream: (15+ of each) for $29.99
I never realised how tiny these guys are, not worth $30, that is for sure.
Classics 2 Packs; $34.99 each
Classics Minicons; All of Waves 1 and 2: $14.99
Alternators; Sunstreaker Nemisis Prime (1 of each): $49.99
Myer, Pitt St Mall Sydney:
Classics Deluxe; Mirage (3), Starscream (5), Bumblebee (4): $26.99
Classics Voyager; Prime (9), Megatron (3): $48.99
Classics Minicons; Wave 1: $16.99
Myer, Blacktown:
Classics Deluxe; Mirage (3), Starscream (2) Astrotrain (1) and Hot Rod (3): $26.99
Classics Voyager: Prime (4), Megatron (1): $47.99
Also dropped into Kings Comics in Sydney, Managed to nab the final Escalation #6 on their shelves and There were a dozen Cover Gallery #2's and Movie prequel #4's left. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise, that the IDw transformers stock doesnt sell, Kings had no Spotlights (Kup, or Soundwave) left nor any previous Escalation, Stormbringer or Movie Prequel issues. They did have a few retail incentive covers for various comics, but that was all.
Kings also had WWi: The Dark Ages TPB, and the 20th Movie TPB for $31.95 a piece.

Firstly: Kmart will apparently be having a sale on the movie Protoform figures starting this Thursday, 17th May, for $19.99 a piece, a saving of $10.
Now to sightings:
TRU Penrith
- Classics Soundwave x8. The toys were split over 3 shelves, and it seems they had at least 25 of them to begin with, so they are selling well. $49.99
- LOC Classics Menasor, Bumblebee, Whirl, Jetfire, about 4 of each. $6.99
- Cybertron Voyagers GF Vector Prime x21, Quickmix x6, Nemesis Breaker x12. $36.99 DOnt know where these figures were 5 months ago when they were meant to be released...
Target Penrith
- Classics Deluxe Grimlock, Dirge, Cliffjumper all x2, Mirage x6. $26.99 each. I had already reached my tf spending limit for the fortnight, so I had to leave them be.
- Beast Wars X Prime x3 on sale for $16.99
Target Mt Druitt
- Protoform Movie Prime and Starscream, as of Saturday they had a whole new setup for them next to the Star Wars Transformers, they had at least 12 of each, and I assume they had not sold any as the entire display was in pristine condition. $29.99 each.
I also managed to get a copy of the movie prequel Novel at PhantomZone in Chatswood, the only place in Sydney I have seen it, so if you want it get PhantomZone at Chatswood or Parramatta to order it in for you, it costs about $14.

Got a call from my gf, apparently the Protoforms on sale in Kmart this week are on an endcap in Penrith. The endcap for the Playdoh/preschool learning toys/games aisle, which is the opposite end of the toy section.
A similar thing happened when Classics where first released, so if you cannot find the Protoforms in the Transformers/action figure section, try searching all the endcaps.

Hey guys, girls and fellow metal beings!
The movie figures are now out at Target, just got to be around at the right time I guess. I picked them all up excpet of that white tank transformer who aint in the movie. No signs of any larger Transformers like Optimus or Megatron or anyone else besides these ones and the white camo tank.

Happy Hunting!

Welcome to the boards GNT! WARNING: Seibertron contains nuts!
Question, do you reckon you could take a close-up photo of the receipt, specifically Target's individual product codes for the figures? Either that write them down? It'd be a great help, so I can ring head-office and see how far they are from getting to my area. Cheers mate!
