He did roar when he used the med kit. Not as loud as previous movies though, so I hear ya. Just shows you how much more bad ass this one was. :P

I kinda liked the fact that the preds in the 1st AvP died like pussies. We were watching an inititation type thing. Looks like the youngins all go through something like that before entering adulthood. The weaker Preds don't make it, so this makes their race consist of nothing but great hunters.

not all preds were created equal!

Yep. They were shown in a Dark Horse comic mini-series entitled "Deadliest of the Species." The female Predators basically look like a normal Predator only larger, and a hell of a lot meaner, there may be other differences, I haven't read the comics in a long time.

But they were also mentioned in the book series as well, the females being dominant among the Predators, the men went and hunted, some of the women hunted as well, but they mostly ran the planet if I remember right.

But in the Deadliest of the Species comics, basically Female Predators beats **** out of Alien Queen. There was a female human in there too, but I don't remember much.

Hmm. I've never read the comics. My first introduction to the Predator movies was through Predator 2 (my husband insisted it was better than the first). I was, uh, less than impressed.

Talk about role reversal. How tall is a male Pred and how tall is a female one?

The actor that originally played Predator was 7'2. So with the big head I guess he'd top out around close to 8 feet? With the female being even bigger that'd be one hulking monster.

wtf movie did you guys see...... it wasnt THAT BAD!!!!!!!!!!!! atleast they showed some gore unlike the first avp....... and if they didnt show the babies at the hospital would it even matter cause remember they dropped a nuke on the town so even if the pred alien didnt kill them that would have died anyways.... and how do you know the predalien even killed the babies maybe it just looked at them and walked right past them.....

i also consider the pred alien a "she" cause it kinda acted like the queen aliens have done in the past movies

I know that's true. It's just so in-your-face this way. Every time you watch it, you're watching that bit. If we actually saw the Alien eat them, we'd be watching that, too. If I wanted that kind of thing, I'd check out Faces of Death.

i think "it" left the babies alone beacuse they didnt pose a threat and or it found them useless remember the only thing the predalien really attacked was the preadtor from what i remember... it didnt really have a fighting/murderous instinct.... it was more concerned with creating more aliens then killing people

All I wanted was a slick movie with good action and lots of gory fun (but NOT aimed at pregnant women and kids! WHY?). I did get some of that and for that I have to give the movie credit. I just wish they had gotten a more competent director (this was these guys' first flick) and a better screenwriter. Hollywood has fantastic writers and filmmakers at their disposal. They were just being cheap and slapped something together, slapped Alien and Predator on it, and just waited for the loyal fans to eat it up.

This was my first AVP movie, I saw it a couple of days ago. I liked the dreadlocks on the predator. I thought the whole movie could have been a whole lot better. The next AVP should have a more interesting story line when they take it to their world. So where will they go? To the alien world or predator world?

 I haven't seen such a merciless film since The remake of The Blob. You know, when a little kid gets digested alive? But this just went overboard. The pregnant woman thing was just unnecessary. It was like, an abortion on steroids.

IMO, the film failed both franchises. A lot of what we know about Predators was thrown out. And the whole cramped corridors, alien could be around the corner and there's not really anywhere to run feel of the Alien movies was thrown out as well.

It seems they were concentrating too hard on trying to fix what AVP1 did wrong that they forgot to keep what AVP1 did right.
