Currently Harry Potter is expected to make:
Harry Potter $69.1m friday thru sunday and
Transformers $32.5m over the same weekend.
I have read some of the replies to my support for Transformers, and I respect everyones opinion, Optimus does not hate humans, nor will I. I have asked all of us that supported this movie on its opening week and weekends to support it a second week in a row to have another record under the Matrix Mantle. Optimus would be so proud of all of us.
Besides our support for a second week will more than guarantee better products and more goodies down the road. Think of it this way, its been 20 years that our beloved transformers have waited, after many encarnations of the TV series we have a movie that even if it was or was not all we dreamed to be, IT WAS THE BEST THING WE HAVE SEEN IN MANY YEARS as far as a Blockbuster, an action film, a sci-fi film, A TRANSFORMERS Film.
I respect all, but request that you oversee anything negative you have against this movie, and support it, because so far after many years of movie watching I have to say that Transformers have brought out the Kid in all of us, boy or girl, man or women, older generation, and new generation a like. I do admit the First Harry Potter was great as well, but it did not have the magic that Transformers have. What I mean by that is, that Transformers is for a new Generation of fans, what Star Wars was at least for my generation, or even E.T. was long before, even Star Trek I have to say had a huge impact in our imagination and culture. Transformers was also as inventive and dare i say it has had such impact as well.
We have a huge following, if we join like we have in the last 13 days, we can make history Remember Transformers endlessly.
Enjoy the movie a few more times, as it is an experience on its own, and help a new Generation of followers grow even more than we have in 20 years, and the many more to come.
Soon I will become one with the Matrix...

Dude that was AWESOME! I agree with EVERYTHING you said. The movie already broke the record for non-sequel openings and July 4th sales. The more people see this, the more they will sink into future movies and products. Remember the budget on the first Spidey film? $100 million or so. Spidey 3? Three times that. The budget on the first TF movie? $150 million. THe budget on the sequel? More than that, that's for sure. The movie companies have seen now that they have a product that is a guaranteed success. My god people, think about it. THe movie's global gross the first six days was $100 million more than it's budget! They've ALREADY made a killing! And they didn't have to put any big name actors in and pay them throught the nose (granted I guarantee Shia is going to command a much heftier price tag in subsequent films.
This film identifies with so many people: the fans for creating a new continuitiy and tradition; parents, something to share with their kids and enjoy, as well as any parent who has felt embarrassed confronting their kids about their "Happy Time"

; the older generation, for providing entertainment without huge amounts of bloodshed, gore, and profanity; teenage boys, for Megan Fox alone. It's appeal is so broad...I have seen it three times and still intend to see it more as I see something new every time I do. I'll gladly throw my lot in with Transformers. Til All Are One!
