You can't be serious!? I'll agree that making some new original characters or doing homages to more obscure or less popular characters would be interesting. But let's be real here.

Hasbro tries that, loses the trademark to the names Optimus Prime & Megatron. Then can't make another Optimus or Megatron named toy later because someone else has trademarked the names. You think alot of the fandom was pissed about the live action movie? Just have Hasbro try to do different leaders and lose the names Optimus Prime & Megatron. You'll see a pissed fandom alright.

Hasbro said at a recent Botcon that they have to continuously make an Optimus Prime toy and Megatron toy to keep the trademarks for the names. If we do want to see the traditional leaders in a future TF series or toy line then we'll have to keep seeing Optimus Primes and Megatrons in many incarnations.

And don't forget the one time they tried what you've suggested. I believe it was in 86' and it resulted in a nasty letter writing campaign by pissed off parents & kids and a kid locking himself in his room for 2 weeks straight.

Optimus & Megatron are here in the TF universe to stay. We should all be used to it by now.

Yeah, but Scourge from RID was cool. Now, the Nemesis Prime gimmick is like the Ultra Magnus gimmick where Hasbro just reuses Optimus Prime molds over and over again. LAME! Not to mention the Megatron into Galvatron just by repainting the Megs fig. I mean, they're trying to pay homage to G1, but if that's what they were really trying to do, they'd make a whole new mold like in G1 and not just paint a toy a different color and call it by a different name. I HATE repaints with a passion.

Superman and Bizzaro

Green Lanturn and Sinestro

Optimus Prime and Motormaster/Scourge/Nemesis Prime/Megatron/ect. (Megatron's listed because of BM Megatron useing the Optimal Optimus body)

Lord Imperial and Lord Vestereo (my characters from the City of games who basically wear the same costume except the hero is Blue and White and the villain is Black and Red)

In short, black Optimus Prime repaints are acceptible but they're the ONLY repaints I'll find acceptible.

to me Black Convoy is cool.

I havn't watched that show sence Elementry School.

BTW I never really liked either of their costumes because Darkwing is Purple, really bad color on a dude and Nega is bright Yellow. Evil villains wearing bright chearfull colors just don't seem that evil.

Yeah, I'm sick of Optimus Prime too.

Also wish we had a single universe like Star Wars.

Sick of cars that are larger than Basics and don't fit in with G1 Prowl and the rest.

Sick of the lack of scale.

Sick of obvious repaints not being done like Energon Divebomb as Banzai-tron, Cybertron Clocker as Hot Rod and Tidal Wave as Broadside.

Sick of IDW.
