Classics Dragstrip - New Pics and New GUNS!
This kid's been back-burnered for over a month, but I'm finally getting back to him.
Structurally he's about finished, but his paint has a ways to go.
It's worth noting that they think that I'm a shoplifter at my local Toys R Us now because of the way that I wandered around the place for a half hour pawing at toy cars looking for the right wheels to cannibalize. Of course I ended up buying a 99 cent Hotwheels car, which is exactly what a shoplifter would do to look like he's really shopping while he's got his pants full of marvel legends or whatnot.
But that's life.

Yeah, it's really cool.
Two questions...How'd you attach the second axle, and, why does he look damaged? It looks a lot more realistic, but, just wonderin'. Still great, definatly worthy of his name.

First of all, thanks.
Now answers:
1- I attached all four by snipping the Hotwheels axles in half and rooting them into tiny holes with dabs of hot glue filling up the extra space. His original wheels and axles are in the parts bin.
2- He's not done yet and I'm a bit sloppy.

And that is the most truthful thing I have ever read on this site!

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I absolutely loved hearing you say it! Thanks!
About the windshield- I thought about keeping it clear, but the original Dragstrip had an open, silver cockpit, so I thought that I'd split the difference.
I'm cleaning him up some more, but I will be keeping him a little dirty. I see the Stunticons as a bunch of car thieves and chop-shoppers, so they're basically cannibals!

Of course you know you're going to have to make the rest of the Stunticons now.
Great Dragstrip! 2934872938432 times better than the original and it'll fit in nice with the rest of the Classics. Please make more!!

I am so surprised nobody's done this before now!
A brilliant piece. He looks great!
I always loved how Dragstrip had three pairs of wheels. Looked so cooooool.

He still needs a few touch ups, but he's just about done. I am going to keep him nice and gritty looking though. This Dragstrip's a 'Con who's not afraid to get his hands dirty!
The guns are from a Zoid. "Command Wolf" I think. They clip onto posts i installed on his roof intake. The symbols are from Reprolabels.

That is ALMOST perfection. If you could get rid of the treads on the front tires by using some sculpting stuff to make them smooth like real racing tires and paint it all black, it would be perfect.
As another thing that might be cool to see, but not exactly necessary, you could add decals like what Classics Mirage has. Just looking at him screams "Penzoil".

Thanks guys!
I have to admit that I hadn't thought of that...
Hmmm... But who would sponsor him?
Think so?

Nice bit of work here! Any plans for the rest of the team?
If this is any indication, I'm stoked to see what you could
do for Dead End!

That is one badass car, and the robot mode is perfect! You should work for Hasbro! I'd buy that baby in a second!
