i doubt it since the original toy was not by Takara and it was part of another toyline (Macross).

Hands down the best of the line. DONE!

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Arggg! The Wal-Marts in my area only have Movie toys! (though found 20th anniversary Prime and Cybertron Primus). I hope I can still find Classics in TRU or at the outlet mall. If not, I'll have to spend twice as much online!

Nope. The helmet is put aside if not worn. It is stored in veichle mode though.

All the classics are superior to their originals. Its the advantage of time and technology.

If you refer to poseability, then I'd agree. But I was speaking more in terms of overall resemblance to the original show - I should have pointed that out.

For the record though, I think Classics Grimlock is inferior to the original. His legs are hideous.

But we're getting off topic...

Nope, no reissues, but I just got mine on eBay for $120 CDN:

That's after I cleaned it and applied the Reprolabels set. ;)

But if you think the Classics version is better, you've either never owned the G1 or just plain crazy! The G1 toy is sweet... but so is the Classics one. So to answer the original question, yes, buy it! And then save more money for the G1 version. ;)

Weapon: Laser Scalpel
he is awesome still comes down to preference.

if your gonna "collect" and not specify then he is a must.

if your selective then no.

is he good? YES! Dare I say this, but if there was no such thing as the TF story line, he may very well ended up being the main character.

A little off topic but, does anyone else think G1 Jetfire's gun looks like a fish?

I'm glad you agree. 8) And yes, his gun does look a little bit like a fish, come to think of it. :-?

Classics Jetfire is definitely worth the purchase, especially if you can get him at retail price. Hell, I even was seeing him on clearance around here, but he was quickly snapped up at $15.

You get quite a bit of versatility with Jetfire: he can be regular jet, super jet, regular robot, and super robot and he carries an arsenal that would single-handedly make a gelatinous goo out of the Decepticon Classics.

Negatives: He is not all that poseable and this is further exacerbated by his inability to stand outside of a few poses; i.e., legs close together or legs wide apart. His feet just don't make for easy standing.

Apart from that, though, he is definitely a Top 3 when it comes to the Classics line.
