I think that this particular Megatron was based off of his Generation 2 appearance, when his alternate mode was a tank. He is a deluxe class, but kind of out of scale with the rest of the deluxes. Somehow, this tank is the same size as a coupe. Yeah. Larger vehicles always have this problem. Stockade and Overcast, an SUV and MiG fighter jet are somehow only slightly larger than a Chevrolet Cobalt. His head appears darker and more battle damaged than his G1 incarnation, but has the same general shape, and includes the Decepticon red eyes. His tank mode appears to be slightly Cybertronic, with a futuristic-looking cannon, and laser gun mounted on the top. The only Decepticon symbol to be found anywhere on this vehicle is on the front, with a dark purple one. On the underside is his legs and pelvis. Transforming him to robot mode is easy. It’s back to vehicle mode that can get annoying. His turret becomes his gimmick. A set of ‘battle blades’ as they are called, which spin, rather like Beast Wars Dinobot’s shield, when a bright red button is pressed. The laser gun can be removed from the top of the tank, and put into a hole in his fist, allowing him to hold it. I don’t think I can really comment on realism at this point, since he IS a fictional model of tank. Detail is nice, and there is a lot of it. Where Swindle and Payload, Decepticon lackeys, each have at least two Decepticon insignias, Megatron has only one, located in the centre of his chest. When you try to use his gimmick, the arm holding the battle blades is exceptionally fond of falling off. Way to go. Decepticon leader, and his forearm falls off at the slightest notice. No wonder nobody seems to like this toy. Why there were at least three of them all mounted on the shelf thing every single time I went in that shop. More people bought Payload than him. I’ll give him a 7/10, because he is cool, but his gimmick officially sucks. It falls off to often and gets in the way of putting him back in vehicle mode.
My review for the Megs v Prime Classics set Megatron. They sell them separately now.
