Cybertronian Jets?
Hi -
Did they ever release Starscream, skywarp, etc. in their Cybertron forms (as seen in the G1 cartoon)? Were they 'going to' and then stopped? Any rumors?

There are two designs of tetrajet Seekers out there. The three sizes of Cybertron Starscream and the War Within styled Titanium Seekers. Give me a minute and I'll update with links to the galleries.

- Weapon: Indepentently Targetable Particle Beam Cannons
Those two moulds are the closest to the tetrahedron seeker designs for their Cybertronian Modes.

Actually, there were three sizes of the Cybertron Starscream, The Supreme class, a Voyager class that came as part of a TRU exclusive two-pack with Vector Prime (and also by itself in Japan as part of the Galaxy Force line), and the LOC figure. The LoC was also redecoed as Sunstorm and a convention exclusive Skywarp and Ramjet.
The Titanium Tetrajets were based off of War Within Thundercracker, and the TIT WW Thundercracker is the onyl one that even comes close to his comic incarnation. They repainted the mold as both Sunstorm and Starscream, calling them War Within Sunstorm an War Within Starscream, but the transformation and appearanc ewas completely wrong for Starscream and Sunstorm never appeared in war Within. Each oif the Seekers in war within had a unique appearance and transformation. No two characters were alike in that series. They were all completely unique. The way Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundecracker transfomred was completely different from one another so using the same mold for both Thundercracker and Starscream was just a plain bad idea. They should have made a completely new mold for Starscream that matched his true WW transformation and appearance..

Completely agree on all your points there Tramp. I caught my mistake about the number of sizes for the GF/Cy Screamer as I was adding the links and changed that paragraph accordingly. Also the differences between the WW designs and the Tit Seekers is why I'm thinking of the customs that I'm doing at the moment as Cybertronian Seekers rather than WW Seekers. While the design used in the Tit line is closest to and obviously based off WW Thundercracker there are still a few slight differences there so non of them are truely WW Seekers anyway, although Thundercracker comes close enough to just about count.

Of course, the real answer to the question is, quite simply, no.
There have never even been plans to produce 'toon-style tetrajet Seekers, if only because it wouldn't be physically possible - as you can see from the pilot, even on Cybertron, the robot modes are exactly the same as on Earth, and every transformation shown involves a ton of morphing. The War Within-style jets are the closest that have ever, or indeed are ever likely to be released.
I seem to remember, however, that someone did try to create a cartoon-style tetrajet Seeker. I think it was Crazysteve, but I can't be sure, and I think he cast a few copies as some kind of convention exclusive. The robot mode was about as inaccurate as you'd expect, but it was a valiant effort.

Thank you all for the input. If anyone has any more info, please post it!
waaaaghlord - nice custom!
I guess I am a bit disappointed that the vehicle modes dont look more like the cartoon. It seems like they worked backwards, making the Robot mode look more like the character versus the vehicle. I know it will never have the EXACT same great angles that the cartoon had, but I was hoping it would get a bit closer.

I have the Starscream from the TRU vs Vector Prime set. Quite nice, if a bit more Thrust coloured than Screamer coloured. It is a good representation of the tetrajets.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

That is the War Within design for Skywarp. IF you look at the doesgns for Starscream and Thundercracker from that comic, you will see just how differemt each is from the others.

I've been watching my G1 DVDs all weekend and hoping someone would do those jets right!
But to date I think all we have close are the Titaniums, and Cybertron StarScream(with the respective legends as well)
