I happen to like the Dinobots they way they were i the cartoon, ohh, and they were only dumb in the cartoon. In the Comic book they were actually Intelligent, and cunning beings.
So its not much of a disguise, who cares. They are children's play things. And as children we have imagination. The weren't usually around populated areas anyway.
I think The Original Dinbobots totally rock.

wmpyr wrote:1) who cares dinosaurs ROCK!!!!
2) make them look like excavated dinosaurs with bones, fossils, dirt/ice.
3) don't make them dumb, but they can have cultural differences, perhaps a communication barrier because they speak in an ancient language or something...

because
1) dinosaurs are extinct so it's a dumb disguise
2) they don't even look like real dinosaurs
3) they are dumb
SO, MY SOLUTION
1) who cares dinosaurs ROCK!!!!
2) make them look like excavated dinosaurs with bones, fossils, dirt/ice.
3) don't make them dumb, but they can have cultural differences,
perhaps a communication barrier because they speak in an ancient
language or something...

You're not very good at voicing your arguments, are you? Do you think that making the Dinobots look like excavated fossils will help with their disguise? Or even their aesthetic appearence?
TBH, I actually sympathise with Blunty. The Dinobots were created during a time when dinosaurs were all the rage. You had The Land Before Time, Dinosaucers, Denver the Last Dinosaur and loads of other miscelleaneous dino merchandise. (Even Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes seems to have been swept up in the fad.) So it seemed like a natural move that Transformers should cash in on their popularity by releasing their own band dinosaurs, even if they made mincemeat of the "Robots in Disguise" slogan. The Dinobots also seemed horribly mismanaged in the cartoon, being demeaned to little more than mechanical cavemen. At first I was shocked at their sudden change of personality in Dreamwave's comics, but now I realize this is closer to what was originally jotted down on their tech specs. (My only gripe is that DW still retained Grimlock's ill-conceived speech impediment.)
Today, the Dinobots live on as part of the main G1 cast, but perhaps that's where they should remain. With their planned ressurection in Animated and Transformers 2, I wonder if "Robots in Disguise" might finally be tossed to the wind.
So don't knock Blunty. He's perfectly just in his opinion and can at least express it more convincingly than screaming "who cares dinosaurs ROCK!!!!"

are you crazy or what?
who cares dinosaurs rock is similar to saying, hey dinosaurs are the fad right now so let's put them in even if they don't really fit.
we are saying the same thing, geesh your blind.
and yes I do think think it would help their disguise because if a human
walked upon something like that laying on the dirt or in a mountain
it would seem much more natural than a perfectly preserved dinosaur
unless they can pretend like they are filming Jurassic park 8 or something. DUH
and as far as looks go, think about it, some of the G1 dinobots have gold skeleton looking pieces in them so it's NOT a bad idea if done well. you haven't even seen it done and your already saying negative stuff.
I like the G1 Dinobot designs, is there a problem with that?
BUt I also think that guy has some points, although I don't think
the dinobots are the stupidest toys, I think he is just trying to act clever than he really is like someone.
I'm not flaming your childhood treasure so take a chillpill, we are
talking about toys dude, you really want to put me down for this?
what's your problem?

Glitcher wrote:Remind me to disguise myself as as a dinosaur fossil next time I want sneak past you and nab your TF's.
Bumblethumper wrote:Either a) you mean like mounted museum skeletons, or b) you mean like where the dino bones have been exposed and cleaned, but are still embedded in the rock.
In the case of a) there would be very little bulk to disguise a giant robot.
In the case of b), what you'd have would basically be similar to the concept of 'rock lords'. As has been mentioned, a massive fossil wouldn't be the most inconspicuous of disguises, and really begs the question, why not disguise as just a regular, less attention-getting rock?
Besides, what was Scorponok all about in the movie? What kind of a 'disguise' was that? I know you get scorpions in the desert, but come on.
Ramrider wrote:1) Dinosaurs aren't a fad. Pretty much every kid goes through a dinosaur phase (including me and Calvin). Admittedly at that point, though, there was a bit of a surge on. Not sure about the Land Before Time, though, I think that was a bit after.
2) Like JelZe said, the embedded fossil idea was used for Dinozaurs, but that wouldn't help at all toward disguises, it's easily as conspicuous.
3) As for 'cultural differences', that really isn't necessary. Their attitude makes them outcast enough as it is, without throwing a language barrier into the mix.
As someone said earlier, I like the concept of them basically as shock troops - almost like the way IDW are handling Sixshot. If the Dinos are on the scene, you're way past keeping it quiet.
