Do you keep the boxes of the transformers that you open?

Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.

If it's a G1, reissue or just plain expensive Transformer then I keep the packaging.

But modern stuff like Titaniums, Classics and Movie 07 - nah, I just rip'em open and chuck'em out.

Although I'll probably regret that when in twenty years Classics Voyager Primes MIB are going for $325+ on Ebay :-?

Similar to others, I keep boxes of new toys, but flatten them...

However, packaging for vintage figures, I keep in tact, those that are not on display are put in plastic storage containers and kept in my wife's and my storage place.

Carded items are opened carefully most of the time if they are worth keeping. If there is an insert with art on it, I take it out and save it.

Saving boxes takes up a lot of room though. Especially when you do not opt to flatten them...

I keep boxes for things that have them. For stuff in Deluxe-style packaging, I keep the cardboard backing and throw out the plastic bits.

I like the art, bio, tech specs, etc. on Transformers packaging, so that's why I keep a lot of it. I even did it back when I was a kid (although I've lost most of that now).

Oh, and everyone should keep Deluxe Bonecrusher's packaging. Come on, you know you love his bio.

I keep only the Takara and G1 reissues's packaging. Most of the boxes I have already thrown away are mostly Hasbro's

Holy Hell on a hand cart... old pic or no, that quite the impressive set-up you have there.

That's quite a display.

Where do you have space that big? Is it in the basement, or do you just have a huge bedroom, or something? All displayed in boxes it looks kind of toy store like.

Thanks Starscream227!

Originally, it was in my bedroom. My bedroom happens to be in the basement. I decided to just take my bed out of this room however, and moved it to the other bedroom in the basement.

If you want shelves like these, you can have them, from the Home Depot. These many ran me about $100ish.

I keep them. Except for things like Robot Heroes and Legends cards, they get trashed.
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

Rijie Seeking:

Botcon 2009--Souvenir Sweeps
Botcon 2010--Souvenirs Rapido, Scorch/Shattered Glass Ravage

MISP preferred, but will consider opened NM/Complete, especially for older figures. Lots of TFs for trade! Please PM any inquiries, serious interest only!
