Does size matter for your Prime toys? In recent lines there are fantastic toys like MP Prime, movie Leader Prime, Cybertron Leader Prime and RiD Prime, but I can't help thinking that Classics Prime, the original G1 Prime (and for me, Protoform Prime) have something to offer despite their non-leader classes. I read someone's post which said that he does not collect any Primes that are smaller than Leader Class, but I'm not so sure. What do you think?

Heck, Machine wars Megs was a basic!

Size does matter to me because I hate it when one figure is larger then its counter parts....

Soundwave and Blaster
Fort Max and Scorponok
Galvatron and Rodimus
(I know Ultra Magnus but he isn't the leader :P )

Personally it is not size that matters to me, but quality. I have no problem with any of my Prime figures as long as there is some scale, like I waited and got the Japanese 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal BECAUSE he was a deluxe. Having him any bigger does not make any sense to me, I mean Gorrillas are not that big.

I also love my Deluxe Classics Prime (I know I'm a minority), but I think with he looks like a great update to the G1 Prime, and I like that he is smaller than Magnus, Skyfire, and Grimlock, yet still larger than Bumblebee and Cliffjumper.

And I just love my Cybertron Prime, because the figure is just awesome (and yet I feel it is in scale to most of the Cybertron line).

But on the same token, I don't think I would ever pick up a legends class Prime, Prime to me has to be no smaller than a Deluxe class figure.

I can work with "too big" figures. If you arrange them right, it can be interesting.

At the same time it does matter... Hybrid convoy is nice, but it hurts that he's one of the smaller Primes around. He's not even in proper scale with the Classics, which is a shame.

Magnus, well ... he *does* transform into a Truck AND trailer, so gotta expect he'd be big.

I'm tired of leader-class toys. I want Prime no bigger than a voyager, and I wouldn't mind a deluxe version.

As leaders, size matters much. I passed up classics Prime and Megatron due2dat. I'm not a completist. I just collect TF figs which represents their character the best in size, overall design, and just plain old wickedness, IMHO, of course. I only have Cybertron Prime and movie leader Prime. Both are in scale and looks wicked with the rest of my puny TF collection, which is wat i wanted. Yeah..

Prime still rocks.

Prime should be big, Voyager class IMO should be the minimum size for a Prime, or an Autobot or Decepticon leader for that matter.

Since I seperate my figures by size and faction, it hardly matters much to me when it comes to comparisons of some figs to another. I'm glad there are smaller Optimus Primes, as I managed to fit them all snuggly into my work space. They now guard the laptop and sketchbooks.

However some of the larger primes are a bit of a let down, and might have worked better if they were smaller and not as clumsy (Cybertron Leader Prime has a hard time standing up, being so tall and top heavy with full attachments- but he's still a nice figure)
Shockwave would think my posts are logical...

Nope, size doesn't mean crap if the toy is crap. Look at energon prime. Easily one of the most debated about primes, most hate him, some love him. Sure a large portion of the haters don't like how hes pretty much a power ranger megazord, but all other things aside, the guy is disliked for the most part. Hes a fairly "big" toy (leader size I know I know) but the fact of the matter is, bigger doesn't mean better.

Getting back to the movie toys, while the voyager and leader sized primes have many differences between the two, both seem to be about the same to me as for how good they are, each with their own advantages and disadvantages that in the end equal out.

But if size meant a good toy, I'd have to look at g1 prime as an example of size not mattering. The toy itself is actually rather small by today's standards, and even back then without the trailer he was roughly shorter than soundwave, but taller by only a bit than sideswipe.

And then there are always figures like hybrid style g1 convoy. That little guy is so freakign tiny, yet he is one of my favorite primes. So much detailing, articulation, and so much more you can do with him. Easily one of the top primes (at least on my list).

As long as the figure is done well I think it wouldn't matter for me as well. A nice well balance and fully configurable figure is just as good as a massive Transformer and if he's/she's all of the above, RIGHT ON THEN.

Once of my favs is the Cybertron Unicron, thats a prefect example of articulation and size, thats the way all Transformers should be made!
