Yellows some plastics over time, some can take it, some can't, depends how the finishing is on some toys I think.
I try not to put mine in direct sunlight.

I have my transformers on a table next to the window but I'm scared if the sunlight will catch them and any ideas where to put them?Briggs wrote:Yellows some plastics over time, some can take it, some can't, depends how the finishing is on some toys I think.

Yellowing is caused by UV light. The sun has plenty of that.
As for melting the colour, no. However, I had a friend who left a bumblebee out in the sun for about a week during the summer of '88 or '89. There wasn't much left. It looked like a Modern Art scuplture. At the time he was pissed, but hey, Sun + Plastic = a heap of crap.

I have add UV transparent coverings to all my windows where I display my MISB TFs. Don't want issues later on.

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

I keep all my TFs far away from the sun, just in case.

Sunlight does not melt colour, but it can fade it over time.
AS has been mentioned, UV rays will turn white figures/sections yellow, in a surprisingly short amount of time. Other colours, such as Red and navy blues can fade if left in sunlight over a long period of time.
The sun can also weaken plastic, making it more brittle and likely to crack.
