A lasso, a grappling hook, and a whip are not the same.
They all use rope in some way, but the functions are different.

But I don't quite see the "sexism" of those weapons being assigned to female characters. Cliche maybe, but not sexist.
I mean Indiana Jones has a whip. He's a dude.

And the reason proably is (sorry Indiana) that these weapons are a bit more feminine. They get the job done, but often with more efficency, speed, and precision instead of full frontal brute force.
I mean my Transformers character uses an Energon whip. But it also morphs into other weapons (bo staff and bladed staff). she has other weapons as well.

There's nothing wrong with it, it just can be over done at times. Just as there's nothing wrong with female characters toting huge freakin' missile launchers.
It's all a matter of what fits the characters' personality and fighting style. When you design a character, you have to think of what weapons they would pick if they were real.

:) My own character, Optimus Primacron, while he's a powerhouse, he often use a sleek, compact rifle that fires the same stuff as Cheetor's 'gut gun' did as opposed to the larger weapons he has. He also uses the same weapon that energon Divebomb had, though bronzed. Though he prefer fighting with no weapons alot of times.

Tankies.
Here's some shots of him

And in contrast, some of Cherrybomb, with her weapons.

And of both of them, just for the sexiness factor.

Cherrybomb likes using the heavy hitting weapons....makes sence since she is stronger than what most femmies are made out to be in the lines....she's got a strength level of 7.5 as opposed 0.5-5.0 you normally see in fem tech specs. :D She also carries a pistol similer to Rattraps, though her's is red and black, and she carries bombs similer to RT's also. Now she carries a small, spring out blade in each of her forarms, but those are used mostly as tools rather than weapons. She also has Firebot and Gunbarrel as her Minicons.

Siren got any Mini-Cons? :?:

Nice pictures. They all your's?

Minicons?
I'm sure Siren would use them but I haven't designed any yet.

They are not done by me, but by various artists.

You could always use pre-existing Minicons, Primacron's got Clentch and Makeshift.

Anyhow, of the fems, only one I did not like was Elita-1.....I think she was hamming it up a bit in her one story, plus she had that weird head shape. Chromia was the likable one, to me anyhow....and she was not overbearingly pink.

I wish poor Airazor would have gotten more screen time on Beast Wars, same with 'ol' Stripes' :)

Got any fem beast-formers yourself, Siren? :?:

This is true. Hmmmmm...
I'm not sure who she'd use though...

I'll have to agree with you on that. But she's not too bad. I haven't gotten to the episode she's in yet (I just started watching the G1 episodes on Youtube a couple weeks ago).

Well, I was actually trying to think of what Si (Siren) would look like if she was in BW.
But I haven't been able to think of an animal form that would suit her. Thought I've thought of using a Snow Leopard.

Yea, Elita is quite hammy in her only story. Chromia was alot more likeable.

I think rescue type Mincons would work, like Prowl, Firebot and so on.

Snow Leopard, eh? Meow.

Motto: "Vote for Beast Wars!"
Weapon: Sword
How about a saber tooth kitty to go with Primacron, which I'm assuming some kind of wooly mammoth?

Half right.

Optimus Primacron's beast mode is a Whooly Mamoth/Silverback Gorilla combination. And the Mamaoth was not exactly a mamoth, but something close on another planet he was on at the time, and it had 4 tusks, lined with spikes.....like the giant elephants from Return of the King, he fights in a similar way, too when in beast mode.

Picture the mutant mammoth head on the body of a large gorilla.

Freaky. O_o;;

LOL!!I've been thinking, if I ever get the time, I'd do short comic strips using Siren and her team mates.
That's would be more practical since I don't have the time to do a full blown comic book.

Opening things up for more humor too. :)

BTW, the saber tooth tiger is a cool idea. :D
