Facepalm Figs

Weapon: Battle Blades
Got any TFs that are just ok or downright ugly, yet with something totally obvious they could have been awesome?

Mine is Armada Starscream. I don' know about the US version, I have Micron, but for crying out loud, would it have killed them to put a hinge instead of or even beside the electronics box so that the fuselage of the jet could fold down onto his back instead of just lying there on his shoulders? It's a miracle he can even stand without falling. #-o

Weapon: Blinding Black Light Beam Gun
I am going to suggest classics jetfire.

I love the figure, but why did hasbro design his elbows and knees so that the swivel was below the joint? It should have been above it for maximum poseability.

Even though I love classics Silverbolt 1 thing would have made it beter. If they added a swivel between the jet and the robot the jet could have been turned 180 degrees and look like a cape.

I'm going to go with an obvious one... U2.0 Ironhide.

Between fixing his blue face, fixing his drooping head problem, fixing his arm problem, and attempting to fix his height problem this figure has spent more time on my workbench than it has on my display shelf.

What's worse is that if Hasbro does do Ratchet I'll likely have to repeat all these processes on him :?
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.
Needless to say, they are not those of SEIBERTRON.COM, its staff members, or any other site lackeys.
Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.

Same thing for U2.0 Tread Bolt (which is the same mold).
He could be so much more awesome if he could just turn his arms and legs a little bit.
Makes me wish I could mod.

Also, I've got to say the obvious:
Masterpiece Starscream!

A beautiful figure, to be sure, but the kibble hanging from his hips ruins poseability.
I've seen the various mods that move that kibble to his shoulders and boots, but I've never had the courage to try it.
It seemed like something simple enough that Takara/Tomy/Hasbro could've and should've built it into the mold.

Made worse when you see the original prototype:

Then some dick comes in, misses the point completely, and thinks they're designing a scale model of an F-15.

Starscream was on the right track, and then they messed him up?
Well... that's depressing.
Thanks for sharing, Sledge. Lol...

The guy that made MP Starscream was responsible for the original G1 Starcream. He is apparently obsessed with jets and wanted to make the most accurate F-15 possible. I have no problem with an F-15 being made, but I can tell you that I was unhappy when they made the relatively kibble free Starscream have skirt armour. I would have rather had something that was'nt as delicate too. MP Starscream is the only figure I've ever had to pull out the instructions for because I was afraid of breaking it at every turn.

I dont' know if I would have liked the original mold either. It's not perfect. It would have had limited mobility as well due to the tailfins on the legs and modifications on the wings.

Ideally, they should have kept most of the kibble on the legs, but had the tail fins transform more so they would not drag on the ground.

They could have had the tailfins rotate 90 degrees forward, like on Classics/U2.0 Seekers.
That little detail would have improved the original MP SS prototype, don't you think?

Meh... too late now.
