Meanwhile, I've been waiting for my backordered, full-price 20th Prime from BBTS since it was arriving in August (WHERE IS IT?!), and everyone's talking about getting them for 20-50 bucks.

If my Wal-Mart is as flaky as it is normally with MP SS, I'm never going to get one. Ever. And that pisses me off, because MP SS is a figure I really f*cking want.

One of my local Wal-Mart has 'em in stock for $50.00 plus tax. If you're interested, I could probably pick one up. PM if so.

I believe the intent was to make him seem like a more realistic F-15.

By most of the pictures I've seen though, a silver or grey would have been more appropriate.

Off topic, but I just wanted ot say that this is awesome. For once the original thread is still in use when talking about an upcoming release instead of a new one starting up every other day. (Yes I know we still see the occassional MP SS thread, but this is a huge improvement over the last few months).

Nice job!

ehh, walmart.com and site to store it.
easiest way to get their exclusives now.
you just have to keep checking their website, but it works. with no foot work.
ie: alt ravage, rumble, robot heroes 5 pack, classics devastator.

I've seen this alot, so I thought I'd give ya'll an explanation...

The coloring on the MP SS is that of an F-15E Strike Eagle, which is a DEEP grey...some of the newer ones have the "blueish" tint to it. The F-15A-D's have the light silver color to them.

SOOOoo as hideous as everyone says MP SS looks, it is accurate to the real world F-15E (which MP seems to be modeled after). I am all about the G1 repaint coming out, but despite not having a MP SS from Takara, I loved it's coloration. You could put that on your desk in my old squadron and no one would ever guess it was a Transformer... That's the beauty of it. After all, isnt that what Transformers are about???

You're not going to be in much of a disguise in the real world being painted white with red trim :P

What does this mean for Canadians? Sometimes we don't get WalMart exclusives. And our Thanksgiving has already passed, and it was on a Sunday/Monday. So do we even have a Black Friday? I imagine so even though I've never been to one. And work will probably be a problem.

I'm thinking I'll just go with DevastaTTor and order him online. Only problem there is nobody has either the USA or Japan version up for pre-order.

that's all well and good but it's supposed to be a masterpiece ss not a masterpiece f-15e. aren't the mp's supposed to be near perfect versions of their g1 namesakes? a bluish f-15e ss just isn't really a true ss. hell, why not make mp skywarp the same color then? for a lot of us this walmart ss is the true masterpiece ss.

What it means is we're out of luck. We tend to get the leftovers, sometimes months after the fact (TRU Soundwave comes to mind). And if you live in Quebec, as do I, there is NO chance of it ever seeing the inside of a Wal-Mart store. (It would be illegal to carry it as the packaging on these exclusives don’t have the obligatory French text on it) Again, soundwave comes to mind (I couldn’t even order him from toysrus.ca because they wouldn’t deliver it to Quebec). I ended up paying double for it through a scalper.

Do i sound bitter?

I ordered my MP Starcream through Robot Kingdom a few days ago – it’s fairly reasonably priced (just don’t figure in the shipping) when you consider what we usually have to pay for a Masterpiece of even a Leader class up here.

The reason why the 1st MP SS was blue: Wasn't SS deep blue in the Japanese G1 cartoons? I think i saw blue SS G1 style toys too. I might be wrong -dunno.

I'm suprised no one has been going on about how this new show accurate color Hasbro SS better have the coronation gear. Everyone threw such a fit over that when MP-03 came out despite Starscream only having it for about 3 seconds in the '86 movie.

I'm also suprised that no one is throwing a fit about the "problems" with the hip pieces or the appearance of the feet. They appear to be exactly the same as MP-03. What a difference a paint job can make I guess.

No coronation gear. Other than being repainted, they are the same figure and accessory set up.

Is that what they corrected on the Skywarp mold? The hips? It doesn't look like it's anything fragile to me. Perhaps I'm missing something?? O_o

You aren't missing anything. I remember people needlessly went on about MP-03 and all it's "faults" when it came out. Some of the threads were ridiculous about all that stuff. I think what it boiled down to was it wasn't "anime accurate" and they didn't like the new colors used. Then it was just a downward spiral into people nitpicking every little thing.

My complaints were:

A.) His price. (It's 98% plastic and doesn't have any gimmicks that demand that price.*)

B.) His "skirt". (I know why it was designed like that, but it's goofy looking. Fortunately there's a way around it, so it's no longer a problem.)

*= I don't require lights and sounds, automated electronics and whatnot to enjoy a TF, and I realize that the main gimmick is what it should've been always...transforming, incredible detail, etc. But...prices of that type generally bring you something like Ultimate Bumblebee, etc...so I want it to do more than be a piece of plastic. Which is why I'm fine with $60.00 (plus tax) but anything beyond that is just a ripoff.

I think that horse has been beaten to death a long time ago.;-)

However, MP 3 will serve as a nice little TC fill in for the time being and then be relegated to generic seeker status for which he is well suited.

What is the "way around" his "skirt?" I don't have the MP release but the skirt does seem like a problem just from looking at the galleries.

Just pop it off the balljoints and leave the pieces attached to his outer shin. Looks more G1-esque. Or you can just remove them altogether.

Thanks Autobot032, and another thank you for all the time and effort you have already put in to figuring out the release date. I really appreciate the information. I know none of it is confirmed but its better than nothing and I think its been helpful. Good work!
