Glue for plastic...

I was wondering, is there a good glue for plastic? I gave up on the idea of making a TF out of metal (I since learned that that idea is TOO ambitious and would only lead to extreme frustration) so I figure, why not it be made out of plastic? Plastic is easy to find and use, and I can create to my artistic heart's content and my own natural tendancy towards obsessive interest.

I have done simpler projects when I was younger, and I want to do this kind of thing again. But what I want to try now will be more advanced.

poly cement from games workshop or any other cheap equivalent,to answer your question, yes, but none of it will be any good vs. handling, think pva glue, great for paper and large surface areas but if too much pressure is applied(ie.transfroming the thing) it'll snap right off,
ok,it isn't that bad,but pvd(pin, vice n drill) anything that needs to be pushed around alot.
hope that helps.

Another option is Plasti-weld, an epoxy that you can get at Wal-Mart. It takes a little bit to cure, but comes out stronger than nearly anything.

By itself, it's stronger than pinned superglue or polystyrene cement, and pinned, it's pretty much as strong or stronger than the original plastic itself.

and if you are gonna use the drill n pin method then i'd recommend that you give the drilled components a good depth so that the pin is re-enforcing not only the joint, but the entire part itself so that it wont get snapped later down the line (it is a real pain when that happens - been there before so i know what its like)

oh yeah and your gonna hafta start to learn how to use materials such as green stuff or sculpting putties for those awkward cracks n gaps that might prove to hard to fill by just normal assembly alone.

^^ good luck

Thank you all for your suggestions! :D Yeah, I had figured I had to to scale back from the earlier metal project, so I will most likey start work on a 5-foot robot after I finish making robes for a Darth Maul project that I'm doing.

I think the hardest thing now left to do before I get started on the robot is finding thin plastic that comes in sheets. Fiji Water bottles are great for arms (they are rectangular and have that correct rounded shape) and there are some others that are good too. Its now the sheets I need.
