My son was playing with Earthrise Scorponok and I have the 3rd party upgrade kit for him, so he was holding the gun. The peg of the gun snapped off in the hole in his hand. Is it possible to get the peg out, without damaging the figure and possibly fix the gun so he would be able to hold it again?
(Also, this is my first time posting here so if I did something wrong just let me know so I can fix it!)

The peg can probably be pulled out with some pliers no problem. There's no way to put the peg back on the gun without it just breaking off next time. This is the chance you take when buying unofficial upgrade kits that aren't tested to Hasbro's standards. The gun should still fit in his claw, it just wont be as steady without the peg to secure it.

Wrong, and part of you probably knows it; surely you've seen tutorials on peg repair before?Emerje wrote:The peg can probably be pulled out with some pliers no problem. There's no way to put the peg back on the gun without it just breaking off next time.
Just like any 5mm or bigger (you can do it with smaller, but it's harder) peg that breaks off, it can be be reinforced by drilling holes to insert a support rod and then superglued back on. You don't strictly need the rod, but it's a good idea wherever possible because it definitely helps with regard to strength of the joint.
I would also sand or file down the diameter of the peg, since it's obviously a little too fat for its own good if it got stuck that bad.

You got me there. I would definitely try drilling a hole through the peg and then inserting an entire 1" headless finishing nail through it along with some superglue or maybe 2 part epoxy. But I have no idea what the gun end of the peg looks like, like if it left a hold behind that would require filling first and seeing as how the OP wasn't sure if the peg could be removed from the arm when there's clearly enough sticking out to grasp with twist out with just about any type of pliers it might be more than they're capable of.

Re: Help Fixing Scorponok
Thanks all for the help/tips! I will try some of what you suggest. I tried some tools that I have around to pull it out but could not get it out of the hole and was worried if I used other certain tools it might damage the peg.
I will probably still try to sand it down if I decide to attempt to reconnect it too but the problem wasn't that it was too big for the hole, it was that it got bent while he was holding so the peg snapped off.
I will post an update if/when I am able to try some of this! Thanks again!

Once I get the peg out I can post a follow up picture of the gun and the peg and maybe you can give me some better tips to fix it from there?
