Sorry to double post but I got an update. Do you think one of you could one of you guys who bought a second set and was going to sell it on eBay sell it to me instead? I'll now pay up to $55. You'd probably get the same if you sold it on eBay.

Crap, I'm frusterated. :BOOM: :BOOM: :BOOM: :BOOM:

Dude, honestly, the figure essentially costs $55 if you split the cost of the set up. People can expect to make at least twice that on the sale of any individual figure, especially up to 3 months after the con.

If someone does agree to sell a figure to you at cost, it's going to be a mitzva.

Whoa...be patient, man. You can now score a Botcon Huffer, Springer, Weirdwolf, or sometimes clear Mirage on e-bay for somewhere between $40-$60 if you're lucky. Right after Botcon, though? $55 ain't going to cut it for any one of those figures. Hold off a little and sooner or later a price will surface that you can realistically pay... Just not now.

I'd like to think some charitable soul will sell you one now...but the almighty dollar (not to mention the cost of going to the convention, etc.) dictates that the people who DID buy an extra set will try to recoupe their losses before being a nice guy. Nothing personal--mouths to feed and all that.

Really? I bought a MIB Bugbite for $55 right after Botcon last year on ebay. How much do you think he would cost?

Heh, to be honest, Bugbite was pretty hated...

I think I only got $50 for mine when I sold a set after BotCon.

Well, he WAS a Gobot...

Does $60 for SG Grimmy sound right?

I guess there were exceptions.... I never saw many good deals at all, but I'd assume the Classics molds would go higher than the others this year. I don't remember anything really below the $75-$80 mark last year, but then I was too busy hugging my Iacon Package box set.

Hey, if you find it, more power to you! It's not the price, it's what you're willing to spend, right?

I think hated is a little strong, but he certainly garnered the least amount of 'buzz' if you'll forgive the pun.

After all, the character did not represent any 'real' G1 character, while all the rest did. It was hard for the seekers not to be the most expensive, and most deisred in that set. 8)

My prediction on what the aftermarket prices on figures will be:

Starscream: $130
Goldbug: $100
Grimlock: $100
Jazz: $110
Prime: $120
Razorclaw: $ 35

Funny, I don't remember anyone being willing to whore themselves out for last year's Botcon set. :-?

I do remember many many people wanting to literally kill the powers that be at Hasbro for letting Botcon have the rights to making those remaining Classics seekers. I recall the fandom being decidedely divided for a while on the issue of last year's set. I guess time heals all wounds.

As much as I would've preferred paying the $60 retail value for the Games of Deception figures I (as Counterpunch would say) "paid to play"! As for last year's set, I think they should've done Sunstorm and not Bugbite.
Collection Count: Just enough G1 & Classics to make this look good!

I don't think Razorlaw would be $35... Starscream, Jazz, and Prime sound about right. I'd think Grimmy and Goldbug would be about $65-$80, though.

Another update. I've made up my mind. I dicided not go to Botcon. (Attendee fig sucks) So I'll be able to afford anything up to $90. I Really need that Grimlock. When do you think we'll start seeing them on ebay?

Yeah, but I'm only buying the general admission. And the only reason I want the entire set is I want Grimmy, Razorclaw, and Prime, and he wants Jazz and Screamer. So we diecided to spit it. And yeah, my decision-making is dizzying. Oh, and I'd like the set to be loose, too.
