I recieved my Henkei Megs 2day in the post and OMG what a figure. I mean the Japanese really went to town here. I never even gave the hasbro version a second look, it looked like a cheap knock off outta a discount store to start with. but then Henkei megs came along

and i was sold str8 up.
His total g1 colours are prefect and even tho peps call him a "shellformer" still his transformation isn't the easiest. and the big con logo on his fusion cannon is a beautiful touch. hes a nice size with gd joints and yea his "wings" make him a little bk heavy but the right pose soon gets over that. and best of in alt mode the colour work even better and looks like a real believable gun instead of somethin that you threw up on last nite in all your drunken glory.

what i'm basically getten at is this figure goes to prove how much a colour scheme can effect the total perception of a figure. from probably the most important first look right down buyin/displayin and attitude towards it.

anyone else totally hated a first release but then fallen for a repaint?

I have my own Henkei Megs and I just think its way superior than the Hasbro release. However, its not like hasbro doesn't get the fans, their release of MP Starscream in G1 colors is way superior than the original Takara release in "unnatural" colors for SS

OMG, my mp Starscream in g1 colours is sittin right infront of me on my computer desk and i completely forgot bout him, wtf that is shameful on my part

but yea fair play to hasbro on some accounts but then again thats what i mean first release wrong colours just nasty, g1 repaint a collectors wet dream.

You mean like movie jazz in G1 colors? Cause I like 1000x more than his silver/blue paint scheme.

I'm pretty much sold on Henkei Megs and Starscream after seeing them at Geekee1's place. I havn't ordered them yet, but I do plan on getting both of them within the next 2 months. Hell, I blame Geekee for showing me the CJ kit as well. BASTARD!!

Congrats on getting a great figure,I got it a few weeks back and think the only Megatron that's better is the Masterpiece one.
The chrome paint Takara have used on the Henkei range doesn't always work but the Decepticon logo on his fusion cannon and the silver chest plate look really nice and the overall color scheme is infinitely better than the neon nightmare of the Hasbro release.

Henkei Megs is awesome. And Screamer. I got them both. But don't knock Classics Megs. He's a great figure too. I kick myself for not getting him when I could have.

Henkei Megs and SS look excellent. But while classics SS looks poor compared to his henkei counterpart, I still very much love classics megs.

henkei megs owns. my classics megs is on his way to --b--'s house to keep him company. i had to give him the boot. but!, i do like the classics version, especially for kids and such. but not to stand in my collection with the more superior version

Funny you should metion that, as my son is getting my old Classics Megs, as he's played with it before and it's a little loose, and your old one is the replacement for me. It's a great toy gun for the little ones. My sons are 2 and 4 and it's the perfect size.

Of course, he makes belive that it shoots water, but whatever makes a fan

I was the same with Megs. I saw the Classics version in my local shops when they were still filling the shelves before the movie line, and although I picked up a few Classics, I just had to pass on Nerfatron.

Then Henkei showed up and I just had to have it.

I dunno why, but flourescent green, purple and orange just don't say "evil, megalomaniac robot" the same way black, red and silver do.

I've got one on preorder (still waiting for the stock to arrive at the store), and I agree, the paint job makes all the difference. Same goes for Movie G1 Jazz too.
