Mine stay in Alt. mode but get rotated in and out storage and placed on my desk.

This is my current display on my desk with only 2 of my BTs

A drawer for Alternators. Nice idea. Saves space. Alternators handy and available anytime.

Thank you...I found the drawers at Staples. I have 5 drawers for my Alt/BT figures. No dust on them and they are away from sunlight.

I keep them in their boxes, in whatever form they were in when I opened them. The boxes are then stacked over my shelves.

darn, after getting Alt Wheeljack (and completing the Mustang molds, whee) seems like the best way to display all of them is thru their Alt modes.

sure, it takes up spaces good for 3 deluxes (assuming you pose your deluxes on a line front to back, since the average Alt length occupies about 3 lined deluxes in robot mode) but they really make for an awesome display... people will mistake them as out of place if you pose them together with your other Transformers.

so, how do the others do it?

Well, I have an enclosed glass shelf with all my BTs excellently posed inside. On top of the shelf is both my sealed and loose, 100% complete Alt collection. The boxed Alts are stacked(from bottom to top, in order of their assigned collection number) to create a background. Then I have all of my open Alts, in robot mode, standing in front of them.
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

Botcon 2010--Souvenirs Rapido, Scorch/Shattered Glass Ravage

MISP preferred, but will consider opened NM/Complete, especially for older figures. Lots of TFs for trade! Please PM any inquiries, serious interest only!

*chuckle* i remember the same feeling the day i acquired my first Alternator. it was really a trying time for me, to trying to transform it from Alt to Bot mode (even with instructions, i still managed to pop out the head and/or car doors!) so when i finally had it in Bot mode, it was like that for how many days. i was actually afraid of transforming it back!

two weeks ago, I indicated that I would post pictures of my entire set-up but real life got busy. However today, I have the pictures.

Image
That is my current set-up on my desk...BT Jazz, once BTA Red Alert but now my custom Prowl, which I am almost done with, and Alt. Bluestreak/Silverstreak (who has a right-hand steering wheel).

These following pictures are shown in order of my drawers from top to bottom.

cool, nice drawers Cascadia. it's amazing they were really able to fit 3 vertical 1 horizontal, exactly 4 Alts per drawer. 8)

Thank you. The drawers do not take up much room and very cost-effective ($25). The other set of drawers is for my G1 & Movie figures plus a place for weapon/accessory storage. So the total cost of my drawers was $50. My TF collection set-up probably takes up 7 cubic feet in my apartment. The only Alt that is missing in the pictures is my Swerve who is still in his box.

Nice job, Cascadia!

Last night, I rearranged My Alternators. Right now, I have a row of the season 1 characters together in alt mode: Windcharger, Hound, Jazz, Prowl, Silverstreak, and of course, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker next to each other. I thought it would look kind of cool having all these guys together in a row, though I wish I could have fit Grimlock and Prime in there somehow(not a big deal since Prime looks like crud anyway).

An idea for a cool picture would be to have my 3 Decepticons surrounded in a circle by the 13 Autobot Alternators that I have with Shockwave muttering to Rumble that he knew he should have called in the Classics Decepticons for some help.

By the way, I mostly display my TFs on a 5 shelp bookcase that I bought on sale at Target for $80; it's the sturdiest, roomiest, and best-looking reasonably priced storage shelving that I found at major retail stores. I have been able to display all my Alternators, Classics, MP Starscream, Movie Leader Brawl and Prime, and most of my movie line characters with this bookcase.

awesome.now that's why i like displaying them in Alt modes...they really feel less like Transformers and more like die-cast car scale-replicas. i think you've got all of the molds and that's an amazing feat in itself. 8)

So yeah I've finally found the pic of my alts. I've got Nemesis Prime, Optimus Prime and Rumble still in the package, they didn't make it to the shelf.
