I have to say that I'm glad there is a hasbro?
Yeah this has to do with the toys so it is in the right forum. Without hasbro we would not be togther now because hasbro has managed to save several failing toylines over years the first two were diaclone and gijoe and third line was star wars when kenner went under I can't imagen life without hasbro. We would be stuck with the power rangers and maybe some other robot line. But we wouldn't have the detailed figures of the transformers line and we wouldn't have the 2007 movie. Yes hasbro doesn't always hit the mark but nothing is 100% perfect just look at takara mp megtron and rust issues it is having. So ever time you complain about a figure or line of toys just remember. Oct 2008 is going to be amazing month because it signals a new begining to line I thought would only be a filler line the classics line. So I want to hear what toys you love that hasbro makes be it a proticular line of transformers or even something else that you collect because I know alot of us don't only collect transformers.

What major thing is happening in October 2008?
i'm inclined to think TakaraTomy and Bandai are better toy companies (I vouch for Bandai personally) but in the case of Takara it may just be a case of the grass seeming greener.

Kenner is gone? So those old Star Wars figures I have MISB may actually be worth something? I ought to look into it.
Anyway, if there were no TF's, I'd be stuck with a hell of alot of Gundam figures in place of those TF's. Thankfully its not the case, and I can pay attention to two different franchises

on one hand, yes I am glad there is a Hasbro. On the other, I wish they'd make better quality toys, and have better QC on their paint apps.

I'm glad they put out the toys that they do but I'm also part of the crowd that wishes some of the quality issues would be resolved. It's not to say I have a lot of bad figures but I collect Sigma 6 GI Joe's as well and I've gotten many of them that have been damaged right out of the box.
So far none of my Transformers have had that problem *knock on wood* but I don't own as many TFer's as Joe's so it's possible I'll run across a broken/damaged one eventually. I've read on here that some people have gotten some figures with pretty weak joints or made of "flimsy" plastic.
In fairness though some of the toys I've bought from other companies have the same problems so it's not just Hasbro. I just notice it more with them because they put out most of the figures I collect.

They also do some pretty sweet marvel figures I'm not sure who did them before hasbro. I'm thinking about begining to collect the marvel legend figures they seem pretty cool although I'm not sure. The other thing hasbro is looking to get the rights to do is line of figures called capcom legends I'm not sure what this will be but sure people on here have a few idea as to what this line might include.

If your Star Wars figures are Kenner from 1990s, then nope, they won't be worth much at all. Hasbro brought out Kenner in the early 90s, but kept the name on the SW brand until 1999.
If you have MISB Kenner from the early 80s, then it probably is worth something.
And I agree with the general topic here. I think Hasbro are doing a pretty decent job!
