I should have come here first. Old collector.
I got on ebay a week ago (never before) to see about selling off small parts of my collection in order to buy things to complete some things I have. I probably shoul have come here first to see if anyone might trade. I picked up a decent box and styro and a few pieces to complete my g1 scorponok and just need two cannons and one of the tiny lasers (that tiny laser is going to be hard to find). I put up a robotech macross Jetfire transformer mold from somewhere between 1992-1996 and wonder if anyone has info on this line of figures? They're not real transformers just use the G1 jetfire mold and came out during G2. At the time I bought a green, blue, and red version.

As for your question, I cannot really speculate as I have no experience with it but several members here are transformers guru's and should be able to help a new member out !

Actually... You've got it the wrong way around. Macross was created before Transformers. And G1 Jetfire was actually based on the original mold of the Takatoku Toys 1/55 Macross VF-1S Super Valkyrie.
Hasbro was desperate for new molds for their new Transformers line of toys, and, amongst many other existing molds from all sorts of different Japanese toylines (like Diaclone, Microchange, Dorvack, Armored Insect Battalion Beetras), the VF-1S mold from the Macross series was also chosen to be a 'Transformer'.
Macross was originally a 1982 Japanese mecha anime series. In the US, the cartoon was renamed Robotech. Since then, lots of companies have owned a license to produce Macross toy models in many different scales.
I'm so meta, even this acronym...
