I used to have a topic on here asking about some REALLY old candy toys, but I think it might be purged. :-?

Anyway, along with (I think) mango-flavored gumballs, you got either a tiny, non-transforming model, or a decoy that is sculpted VERY closely to the look of the actual toys.

I used to have an olive green Lazerbeak (or maybe Buzzsaw) model that was fragile beyond belief.
In this picture, you can see I still have parts to the Megatron model, despite it having been raped by superglue and paint in my youth:

Likewise, I used to have a yellow rubber decoy of Bumblebee and still have the yellow Ravage decoy:

Well, my initial questions were:
--who made them?
--what characters were made?
--are there any more pictures of them?

HUZZAH! I recently snagged a scanner at Walmart's black friday sales and decided to go through a few bins of paper junk and japanese diecast robot instructions... and found I still had part of the packaging!

Still no idea what company made them, but I think in japanese, it has the list for the available characters. And the company name might be the japanese letters on Ravage's tail in that pic.

::wonders if this site should be renamed sAibatron:: :P

konboi (Convoy) ((Optimus, of course))
kurifu (???)
banburu (Bumble) ((Bumblebee))
gongu (???)
kondoru (Condor) ((Lazerbeak? Buzzsaw?))
jagaa (Jaguar) ((Ravage))
rifurekutaa (Reflector) ((Reflector))
sutarsukuriimu (Starscream) ((Starscream))
saundoueebu (Soundwave) ((Soundwave))

Hmm... what about the Megatron model? And who's Kurifu (Cliffjumper?) and Gongu?

I also notice there's no description as to which were models, which were decoys, or if they were all done in both mediums.

I also translated 2 of the words of the words in red, the second one being "kyarameru" (caramel), so it seems either my memory of mango gumballs was intermingled with some OTHER anime candy/toy I bought at the convention that day (Crusher Joe and god knows what else) OR perhaps models got one type of candy while the erasers got the other type. (though I highly doubt that).

Yes, curifu is Cliff (Cliffjumper) and gongu (Gong) is Brawn's Japanese name.

Hmmm... so maybe that was Megatron's package what with his name not being mentioned on the list?

Though I'd be suprised if they actually made individual packaging for EACH guy... I mean, they're just candy toys, y'know? lol
