So I just bought the Ironhide Voyager toy, and I just can't seem to it from the car mode into the robot mode. I'm struggling with part 7 of the manual. How do I turn the whole upper body part around? Also I noticed the roof is detachable.

Any help would be nice, pictures as well.

Ok u want to make sure the blue chest piece is lowered before u turn the torso, the roof is detachable but it dosen't serve any use

Ok, what blue chest piece, the little one with 2 holes in it? And where exactly is the torso turnable?

ok the chest piece has the two slots in it pull it down, and the torso is turnable where the front bumper is so it's to the torso so it turns with it

The big blue piece that folds down from inside the truck cab. It will eventually become the chest piece for Ironhide:

When you fold that down, you'll need to move the arms out of the way, and if you look closer at the bottom of the truck cab portion you'll notice its two pieces grab the one the fender is connected to and rotate it, its a little hard but it does rotate.

I've done steps 1-6, but I just cant figure out 7. Got any pics?

Sorry no pics of that section. But its like unscrewing a jar lid. Grab the top portion of the truck with one hand, and grab the fender with the other, and rotate. They are on an axis.

But you need to fold down the blue piece, and move the arms out of the way so it rotates properly.

Are the 2 pieces of the carhood mountable in a way that resembles the picture you posted?

just reattach it to the peg it was on before

Not quite..(no peg there, just a hinge)
The hood parts are on spring type hinges/arms, you need to push them down, so they lock in. Of course it hinders the arm movement a bit.

Off the top of my head, the steps would be for this part of the transformation:

1) Combine the upper and lower half of Ironhide at the torso with the peg/hinge deal that's already been discussed here. It doesn't snap in all the way, so don't try to force it.

2) At this point, you rotate Ironhide above the torso, NOT the actual torso itself. Keep in mind the directions may have put the arms in the way(and if you haven't taken off the big blue guns from the arms at this point, do so now), so you may have to do some rearranging to make a clean rotation, but it should slide easily.

3) Push the arms up so that the front tires form the "shoulders" and which also should hold down the front hood somewhat, but will not lock those panels in place.

Don't feel too bad. After experience, Ironhide is actually pretty easy to transform, but that 1st time can be a b*tch and the instructions really are vague and lack several steps(what do you with the roof of the truck? I've just made my own transformation for that part).

Dont ya worry, i had the exact same problems when i first time was transforming my Ironhide. I think i used 20 minutes to figure out how to turn the chest around. And ... a week to figure the rest of the transformation out :grin:

Ahhh ... we've all been here with Ironhide. You'll get there, and after a while his rotating torso will be a LOT easier to turn.

I hate to break the news to you, but he's more difficult to get back into truck mode.

If all else fails, look to his hip joint ... it's easy to not realize where they were positioned when the toy was new.
