Do yourself a favour to save you from the disappointment.

Do NOT expect the second movie to follow on from those comics.

IDW will have their writers, the 2nd movie will have it's, I would be VERY suprised to see both groups work together so that the movie flows directly on from the comics.

I just read the novelization and I am quite sure that he won't be coming back.

that is only in the novel thing. he doesnt get his spark ripped out in the movie so there is still a chance that he could come back.

That is true. However, if they make a novel of the sequel, wouldn't it be odd to have Jazz alive in one and dead in the other?

he doesnt have to be alive right away. they could always bring him back in the novel thing as well as in the movie.

Here's an interesting thought:

As far as creative control is concerned, IIRC, Hasbro technically holds all the keys. It's their franchise. For the first time around, they let a few things slide because they were being told that it was either Bay or nothing, & Bay wanted monkey with chicken legs for a jet(which IIRC Bay said Hasbro had a serious problem with) & flames on the wrong Prime because he thought it was cool, etc, etc,etc.

Next time everybody, Hollywood or otherwise, will know that the franchise is a hit. I seriously doubt that Hasbro won't realize this & grow a bigger backbone when it comes to design & story decisions. & in that case, if Hasbro says stuff like bring Jazz back, my guess is Bay will listen, or he might be finding his "baby" being hauled off to another movie studio to finish the franchise.....or at least another director.

Just my guess, but I'd say from here on in we're going to see more traditional TF stuff from here on in, such as popular characters being brought back to life.


Just for the record, though, I really don't care what they do with Jazz. I was really impartial to his new makeover. I'm just not going to blindly accept that he's gone for good untill we see a script or general plot outline for the sequel(s).

i think the rumours come from fans but i was PO'd that Jazz died. i think it's likely the plan will be for a trilogy though.

well he is holding jazz for a couple of minutes in the flim after he rips him in two....so i would say its safe to go with the ripped out spark thing....just chalk it up to bad editing i guess, but megs was doing something with jazz.

Actually, thats the prequel comic... You want the movie novalisation (sp) or movie adaptation-comic...

Prequel cover = Megs
Adaptation cover = Prime
Novalisation cover = Eye over earth

I really doubt they will bring him back. That would be kind of a cop out imo. But who knows?

meh, its 50% chance he'll be back, i just wish they'd hurry up and announce the next roster of autobots and decepticons to feature in the sequel, then we'll know if hes coming back or not

and Optimus Prime saying "Aww Jazz, we lost a great comrade."

And lost isn't a 1%-99% word... its a 100% so I doubt he'll be back.

But he was indeed very cool.

And it would completely contradict the first movie and people would then bitch and moan about even more plot holes.

Or they could forget about him and introduce a new and less lame character to replace him.

someone always has to die, boromir lord of the rings, obi-wan kenobi, etc. It just wouldn' be right if all survived, it is part of story telling. While jazz was cool, i'm glad he is the one they picked to kill, i mean ironhide seems too tough to kill off, and ratchet is a medic (that would be kinda screwed up), bumble bee (sam would have a mental breakdown), and lets not even get started with optimus prime, i mean he just didn't seem to me like a lasting character

well ppl are going to complain i guess, but looking at it this way, Michael said he wasn't happy with the look of Jazz and wanted a larger car, Tom said he was the third most popular autobot - and they wanted the death to have an impact on the audience which is why Jazz was chosen, a piece of the allspark survived, Darius McCrary -Jazz's voice actor even further hinted his return, im not saying its for sure but it looks like hes probably coming back just like Megatron/Galvatron will. So i dont think ppl should care anymore on this topic, until its official this all we know and it looks good for Jazz fans, but as i said we wont know till theyve written the screen play

I like Jazz but I really don't know if they should bring back for TF2...maybe TF3 instead.

The way I see it, that piece of the AllSpark was pulled out to demonstrate that it was destroyed. Nothing more, nothing less.

As for the VA hinting at Jazz's return, I put that down to him talking himself up. I SERIOUSLY doubt the VA of a character as minimal as Jazz would be in on plans for any sequels, Cullen might know some things but anyone else? I doubt it.

I don't see how it looks good for Jazz fans. At this stage, he's dead, mourn him, and then IF he does return you'll be even more happy than if you were expecting it!
