Leader Brawl picked up.

Postby Pontimax 01 » Thu Sep 06, 2007 9:12 pm

Wow. Picked him up tonight and I can't stand him already.

Everything was cool in Robot mode, but going to tank mode was horrible. His arm cannons that break away and fold into his legs fall off at the first sign of movement, one of his top turret guns falls off extremely easy, and his side skirts and tracks spring out from the little headlight assembly way too easy. Hell, just sitting there, one side randomly sprung out and folded back. And his electronics activate all time time. Was neat at first, til it wouldn't SHUT OFF.

So far I've had 3 major parts fall off him repeatedly. I can't keep him in tank mode at all, his head pops up really easy in tank mode and of course then his lights and sounds go crazy again.

He's really not good except in robot mode. :-( Probably taking him back.

I'd try to exchange for another of the same...most people really like leader Brawl. I saw him at Wally World yesterday, didn't pick him up...went back today and he was gone.

Mine is not like that. You may have missed a few tabs that need to be pushed in securely.

Yeah, his gun barrels keep falling off on that top turret. They are really loose and sag. And his right headlight/clip assembly is really weak. You can sit him on the shelf, come back, and his side skirt has flipped open. He's very blah.

Hey MentalDragon, who is that guy in your avatar? I want to punch him so, but he's got those guns...

I'm still considering whether or not to get Leader Brawl. I don't think he's got much play value. I don't care about electronics, even if they are diverse. I'd prefer things that shoot. I want Brawl to have projectiles he can fire at his enemies and hit them with something, instead of some fancy display of lights and sounds. I can just imagine my Autobots standing there, thinking: 'Uum... yeah?'

Brawl's like, 'Aww crap. Damn you Hasbro.'

He's got a lot of weapons, nothing shoots, and nothing outstanding. And the figure loses points with me because it's quite fussy to keep everything in place in bot mode. His leg panels move freely and get in the way.

I'm not feeling much love for this one. While not horrible, he needs a bit of work.

Sounds more like you didn't transform him correctly. If you do it correctly, the tank mode is very solid and things lock securely. Nor does the head keeps popping out. The instructions is a bit hard to follow, but when you do it right, the tank mode is problem free.

Also, his leg panels doesn't move freely at all in robot mode. You missed the securing pegs again.

Blarg, see, as a powerhouse with so much firepower, I expect Brawl to not only have a high playability level matching Cybertron toys, but also to have at least 2 projectiles, if not three or four.

I guess movie starscream went all the way with 6 huh?

Pretty sure there aren't any pegs on that last panel back there. It's just spring loaded, but it'll flap around easy enough. And the pegs that hold the treads to left leg aren't very good. They pop out frequently.

And yes, his head pops out if you touch him wrong. Along with sounds and lights.

Overall, I give this thing a 6. And to be honest, I need a 7 to think about keeping him. He might get a 7 if those arm mounts didn't fall off the little white posts. They didn't put anything on top of them to lock them down. They are on with friction and mine are loose. When they attach to the arm for robot mode, everything is fine, but transforming him always leads to one pulling off.

He was a bit of a pain in the arse to transform at first (I had the elbows rotated the wrong way as I usually do not look at instructions) but after figuring that part out its now a pretty smooth transformation.

IMHO I like the guy, I love all the different weapons he has all over him. I think they could have maybe done a few things different on him, but for the most part hes been quite the enjoyable figure. Though I have the same problem with the upper turrets coming off pretty easily.

Me thinks you're unable to transform properly. Try again.

Too bad you seem to have so much problem with yours. Mine is fine and very solid, and don't have the issues you have. Just return it and get something else you like more. Though Leader Brawl ranks pretty much the second best movie toy on my book. But thats just me. Hope you get your $40 worth.

I might be a little rough on him with my opinion, I'm sure he's not trash. But for 40 bucks I just didn't expect him to come apart. I've got 4 leader Primes and they were all great. The only other figure I've had anything fall off at all was Concept BB, his arm and leg kept popping off when you transformed him. Took him back and even bought two more, and none of them ever did it. Brawl will probably just go in for an even exchange, then if the new one goes to pieces on himself, I'll just get my 40 bucks back.

Whine whine complain complain. Yet other members sit here and tell you that doesn't happen with theirs over and over again. Mine is perfectly fine. Though the main turret gun comes of rather easily. Need to clear nail polish the thing.

Frankly Pontimax 01, either you got a dud which happens on occasion. Or you are far to rough with it and aren't transforming it properly. You could always trade him in and try again. Or just return him, either way your complaints clearly aren't universal. So stop trying to make some grandious point about the "flaws" in the figure. If you do get another one and it happens again maybe you're on to something. But I doubt it.

Edit: and I see that that's exactly what you said while I was posting... Well, once again my propensity to type longer posts put me behind. To little to late.

You know, I don't usually like being rude to members, but get bent.

My opinion is mine, get over it or get out of this thread.

I don't have a problem with your opinion. Couldn't care less about it really. Only that you tried to make your opinion of a single figure universal.

And if a single post by a random member of the forum community upsets you oh well. My opinion (a person you don't know) of your opinion (a person I don't know) hardly counts for much in the grand scheme of things now does it?

Going around and being a dick because someone has problems with a toy isn't very helpful to the topic, now is it?

Who said I wanted to be helpful?

You went on a rant about how bad the toy was. I pointed out it was possibly just the one you have. What you do with that information and how you feel about me concerns me not.
