Looking for some new Masters

Weapon: Battle Blades
Headmaster and Targetmasters, that is.

This is a line that I never had much of growing up, but I'm interested in adding a few of each to my collection. My problem with some of this line is that they had really wild alt modes and/or colors.

I want alt modes that are more realistic than futursitic, so point me in the right direction!

I'd also consider Powermasters.

Weapon: Blinding Black Light Beam Gun
How about Getaway? He has a pretty spiffy alt mode.

Luckily the Powermasters generally look realstic.

http://www.tfu.info/subgroup/powermasters.htm

The ones released in the U.S. were:

-Darkwing
-Doubledealer
-Dreadwind
-Getaway
-Joyride
-Optimus Prime
-Slapdash

Overlord also looks really awsome AND somewhat realistic, but I think can fetch a pretty high price.

For Targetmasters, the second wave of "Double Targetmasters" all had realistic alt. modes. Construction vehicles for the Autos, and military for the 'Cons:

The ones you'd probably be interested in:

-Landfill
-Needlenose
-Quake
-Quickmix
-Scoop
-Spinister

There's also Stepper, who was reissue #15 in the old Takara collection series. He's a black with flames repaint of Jazz, and was pretty overproduced. Not sure of his prices, but I don't think he'd be that expensive. He was also released in the Hasbro Commeriative series(last one) as "Ricochet".

Finally, we come to the Headmasters.

http://www.tfu.info/subgroup/headmasters.htm

VERY slim pickings here, all Autobots:

Hosehead
Nightbeat
Siren

The Japanese version of Siren(Go Shooter) had a spiffier paint job, and Nightbeat was repaitned into the first female Transformer toy, Minerva. I believe she fetches a pretty penny.

Hope that helps :) .

It's too bad you're trying to limit it to realistic alt modes.

Pointblank (Targetmaster) is probably one of the best of the bunch. He even has fairly advanced arm articulation for G1, but he's a fancy pants futuristic car.

Weapon: Reciprocating Laser Cannon
There's the targetmaster repaint of Jazz that I like, Stepper/Ricochet

It is also the cheapest targetmaster out there.

I agree, don't limit yourself.

However...

Go for the double TargetMasters, they all have "real" alt modes.

:BOT: Headmaster Jr's are the best bet. Jap's are real expensive, but their Korean counterparts can be got for less than $50 each...assuming you find then...no...you can't have mine.

Also, anything from Masterforce, will fit your criteria.

Weapon: Diffraction Sword
Getaway is definitely the PowerMaster I would suggest. And Prime, of course.

As for the HeadMasters, I tend to favor MindWipe.

Snapdragon. Yeah, his jet mode colours aren't right for an SR-71, but they're not insane. And he's a sweet figure.
