Alright, I'm 18. I'm not sure if I've 'earned' the right to be nostalgic or not, but that's not the point.

I remember this one, I think it was a Megatron figure. It was MASSIVE, (For a figure.) and had like, 4 or 5 transformations. And one of it's selling points on the package was that it was customizable, as in you could 'make up' your own forms. (It was quite a complicated little figure, at least to a little kid.) Anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm not sure if it was a 'special' edition or not.

It was Orange, purple and silver, (Mostly for the, armor plates on the treads I belive.)

Have you checked the toy galleries? If you search for Megatron without selecting a series you may jog your memory.
Care to estimate the size? I know that R.I.D. Megatron (he's about 7 seven years old now ) has at least 6 modes but he is only about 6inches tall and is purple and black. I don't think he fits your description very well.

how long ago was this? it sounds kind of like RID Megatron that was out in 2001 or so.

If it has treads it could be Armada Megatron. He was customizable
with Minicons and had a couple different modes too.

Definitely Armada. RiD is relatively small, but I could see a 10 yr old thinking it was big.

Megatron with several modes, I agree sounds like R.I.D MegatronÑ

However he was mostly purple, no orange to speak of.

Armada Megatron did have green, and orange, but little purple.

Still the Multiple Modes do point to R.I.D Megatron. Here's a picture:

In the middle rack, right in the middle. The one that looks like it has some kind of Armor plates on it's arms. I'm pretty sure that's it.

Ah ha!! That's it.

...I don't know why I thought Megatron. I guess it was the whole, 'Tank mode' like thing that threw me off.

It could be because in Beast Machines Megatron used the same body and called himself Optimal Megatron.

The guy in the middle with the little orange guy on his shoulder, like Sylus said is Optimal Optimus. You may have thought of Megatron because he did use that body in one episode of Beastwars/Beastmachines. so its possible you could have a mental Image of Meagtron in that body.

Still its Optimal Optimus. As per Sylu's link.
