Gestalt's an old fan-term for a combiner, a thematic reapplication of a psych term. Not surprised they're using Combiner, though - besides being the branding for it, it's a lot quicker and easier to pick up on.

(Ahhh, website factionalism. That certainly hasn't gotten tedious.)

...what? No, no. At least to me, gestalt just sounds more...I dunno...professional?

But "Combiner" was always the official term. "Gestalt" was a fan term given use in some sparse official cases.

Am I going crazy or does it sound like Constance Zimmer is voicing Victorion in this? It's probably not her, since I assume they'd want to use actors like Jon who are non-union or whatever the equivalent is, but the voice reminds me of her.

Victorion is very self-righteous here, but that's kind of fitting for her and typical for Camiens as we've seen. Some say Mary Sue, I just see boastful. Also, since the animation here is quite limited, "voiceover + zoom out" was about all they could do so eh. Check your silly criticisms at the door for now.

The Camiens struck me as more egotistical/prideful so... That kinda jives with Victorion. I haven't really seen a lot of her personality as a combined form... But in the combiner arc... even Superion was pretty full of himself. It'll be interesting to see how different the personalites of the combined selves differ from the individuals.

Man you guys are a tease... . Anyway I think Victorions voice was just right, any "deeper" then you get into butch territory (BM Stryka) *shudders*

But 2 previews in, its still looking good. Unfortunately yes Victorions self-righteousness will be her downfall. Also not to sound self serving, but we definitely need a modern Omega Supreme Toy (I know we need Trypticon first, I voted for him too), but Omega hasn't been seen in a while in IDW...still recovering from that explosion. His absence in the Combiner Wars was definitely felt, though not a combiner himself, they are his primary/preferred combatants.

Just make a new one. There's a bunch of existing ones that don't really cover Voltron as a whole. They're also 5+ years old.

Yeah, the Rodimus bit surprised me as well. So far it's looking like it's IDW focused on Combiner Wars and excising MTMTE... which sounds a little like a horror story, but I'll reserve judgement.

I guess it makes sense. There was a mention or feeling of Optimus leaving things behind; and which character is more natural to take up the mantle of Autobot Leader than Roddy?

The press release that first announced these preludes first mentioned Rodimus Prime and the Mistress of Flame as being the other two of Starscream's fellow council members.

Doesn't stop the man-shoulders unfortunately. The problem lies with the torso, not the limbs. Plus, I'm not buying her because quite frankly she looks awful, and I'm off official combiners for good.
