I almost hate to ask but what have you managed to do to it that it needs replacing? If you still need to get yourself the stack upgrade I can't see why you'd even have had his arm apart to dislodge the thing.

I wanted to see if the stacks were easy to remove and replace, and didn't notice that they had coiled springs on at the time. Luckily, I only opened one shoulder up...

That's not the worst of it.
Last night I took Armada Overload's arm apart cos I was bored. As I was putting it back together the screw driver snapped!

He's stuck without an arm till I get a new screwdriver to put it back together with :P

Why didn't you keep the spring, surely it can't have jumped out too far at the time? As far as a replacement goes I guess the best bet would be to take the other shoulder apart and take that spring to a craft store, model shop or hardware store and see if they carry anything in a similar size with a similar level of coil to it. Best guess is that even if you manage to find something that'll do the job you'll probably have to straighten the ends at the right angles to make the 'flip back' mechanism work. You've set yourself a bit of a toughy there.

Motto: "Know your enemy, then crush them."
Weapon: Gatling Cannon
I can't believe the difference the longer smokestacks make! Totally worth it!

While the DVD prime is by far the inferior version, you can still get 'em at Wal Marts in my area. In fact, my WM had them marked down to $50 but then they got repriced BACK to the $69 pricetag :-(

I suspect they'll be back down to $40 or so either before or after Christmas.

As for your missing spring, you can try a spring from a "clickey" type pen. You may have to trim it, but that may work for you.

I think Takara MP-4 Convoy suffers from slight misalignment between the 2 chest panels...

Agreed. DVD Prime is marked down to $45 at one of my local Wal-Marts. I can deal with the crappier colors for the deal.

I'm going to slightly disagree with Master Blaster. I've got the DVD Prime and don't think he is anything close to the crap that people make him out to be. His tomato soup red is much closer to the cartoon than the deep dark red.

well ive got 20th Anni Prime, with those £3 long stacks (arrived in less than a week), so now i have the best of both worlds, correct long smokestacks and a correct black gun, best combo imo, unless you really want a trailer (ive no room to display one)

Color variation is not a big deal to me. However the chrome parts makes a big difference. I have the DVD Prime, which has no chrome. A big minus.

Just imagine a G1 prime with all the chrome parts (grill, legs, etc) replaced by grey plastic. It won't look as good.

Wasn't that a problem with the mold itself, hence all five figures coming from it, having a floppy left chest?

I have the 20th anniversary version and it doesn't have that problem. From what I read, only MP-04 was affected.

Because that've been smart! :P

I have no idea where the spring went. I only found out his shoulders had springs in two months later when I found that his smokestack was loose.

I'll give it a go. Worse comes to worse, I'll go to my college's tech department and fashion a new one.

It'll be one of those recurring threads by the look of things, just like the classics ones.

Here's an idea: A feature section (with a big, bright red, visible link somewhere on the front page) called: Seibertron's Guide To: (insert common n00b bi-weekly thread here). Like a series of children's books!

That way people can find the answers to questions that have been asked and answered a thousand times before. :P

My booksmarks lead directly to the forum and I ignore bright red, visible links here, because experience has told me, that they are about the 2007 movie which I'm not very interested in and the same news appears in the left bar for easy access.
