Micromasters scale question

In fiction, or whatever, what size are Micromasters exactly? I'm referring to their scale in comparison to humans. In your opinion, are they truly micro-sized robots, or are they just smaller figures representing regular-sized robots, for the sake of the Micromaster Bases, and such?

Micromaster Hot Rod, for example (next to the beloved G1 Star Convoy):

If Micromaster Hot Rod is actually too small for a human to pilot, then Star Convoy must be tiny as well. No? This is a weird subject. Personally, I vote for the idea that Micromasters are small figures representing regular-sized robots, in fiction. But, what do I know? There's a myriad of different, sometimes contradictory fictions related to Micromasters. What do you think?

That's a very complex topic. It really depends on which source material you're looking at. The original toy commercials had them as tiny little vehicles.

Comics have had them range from human sized to about the same size as any other transformer.
Marvel US

Marvel UK

IDW

Japan was pretty inconsistent, too. In Zone they were about human sized...

But combined in Battlestars Six Liner is about the size of Sky Garry (who himself is the size of G1 Optimus Prime).

And in Operation Combination the Micromaster Combiners are only a little smaller than a Scramble City Combiner.

Suffice to say there's no real consensus on how big a Micromaster is. I don't think we've seen them smaller than a human anywhere and human sized does seem the most often used, though that would make them just a little smaller than a mini bot like Bumblebee.

Emerje, you have just composed the most comprehensive reply I've ever seen. Clearly, you know what you're talking about. Amazing response, which gives me even more to ponder, with respect to Micromasters!! Lol!!! Many cheers.
