I don't get Beast Wars...I saw the figures and the cartoon once or twice and always thought WTF happened to TFs? Loved the originals as a kid and the movie & movie toys brought me back.

I thought that at first but then i saw the connection to G1.
It made me want to see what happens at the end of Beast Machines and the end of G1 continuity.

G1 is definatly the most epic. Beast Wars and Beast Machines are part of that.

You're basing that on what?

Classics hasn't had it's own comic, the only time you'll find a Classic character in comics is in the club comics, and they're not available at retail (until they do the trade paperbacks).

Beast Wars however has had one mini-series and is into it's second mini-series plus the Source books.

Club comics is still comics.

to get Beast Wars, you have to watch it with an open mind and sequentially, the episodes really pick up quite quickly unlike other TF cartoons (Unicron Trilogy).

you also have to accept that the series IS canon and part of G1, except that it happened in the future, but quickly the setting went back to the past because apparently TFs have discovered transwarp technology (basically time travel).

oh, and Primal is not Prime. munky ! = trukk!!! 8)

This is simple: it's G1. Those characers and designs laid the ground work for almost everything else that came after it. Even BW regularly referenced G1 and was tied to it. Without G1 the figure and story lines, we might be in a completely different place with Transformers today.

G1 started it all and defined the brand.
