Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.

Are you independently wealthy, where your wife wouldn't care if you dropped over $600 at once, on Transformers? 'Cause that sort of thing doesn't really show the partner much respect. Not saying someone shouldn't do it, but it's bound to be a shock to the unsuspecting partner.
And it's a joke. Lighten up.

Regardless of the fact that you were joking, I still think it is ridiculous to feel guilty about a purchase like this if you have the money to make it. If you were strapped for cash and chose transformers over a mortgage payment I could understand, this reads more like a grown man who has to authorize his hobby with his wife.

Philosophers forum or not, the idea of a woman controlling a man is now commonplace in media and reality.
I think that is a travesty, because men LET it happen.

Its embarrassing for us as a gender.

They appear to be all there, unless you decide to count Soundwave and Pepsi Prime. I think they did come out under to commemorative series banner (at least Soundwave did).

So yeah, if you spot one missing - which one?

Yes, I meant Soundwave. I count him.

I've never spent that much on that big of a haul. Even though it actually saves you in the long run, I have to buy piece by piece to keep things below the radar.

ditto, i believe i'd get my head split open if i pulled off that move

Probably not the best move 6 weeks before Christmas... but nice buy. Good luck trying to rationalize it. Take good notes.

Well, I like to think my wife and I are partners, and there would be eyebrows raised if either one of us made a purchase of $600 worth of anything, without consulting the other person, whether we could afford it would not be the issue. For most people, that's a significant chunk of change.

THAT IS A STEAL! Dang dude mad props to that purchase, let me know if you see any like this in the future on eBay, heck I would of battled to the end as well for that collection.

Don't blame you hating snipers and I'll admit I've snip almost every auction I've been on but thats the only way to MAN UP!
Set the base that you will pay and if they beat it then there's always another day!

If your wife wants you to resell them, shoot me a PM will ya!
GREAT BUY AGAIN, and I would be proud to own them! Gewd job man.

IMHO, I would spend that much on original G1's and not reissues. Also, I would've waited until after Christmas for a haul like that.

Why do you say that? Is there any different trend around Christmas in terms of pricing and availability of different figures?

Nice to see that someone get's the point. It's not what was bought, but how much money was spent without the other's knowledge. It's not "approval" or being "allowed", but rather knowing that hobbies, in some households, are not as important as other more pressing needs.

You sure don't sound like a married man. I don't think healthy couples hide such important spendings. It's only asking for trouble.

Or someone who even lives with a girlfriend, like me. :P My girlfriend's pretty supportive though.

Sweet find, that's a pretty good deal for a whole set. I'm kind of envious, even though I already got most of the ones I wanted.

I'm in the same situation, live with gf as well but she is supportive as well. She's always telling other couples which are friends of ours that I could interested in a lot worse things...
