: Autobot Jazz

hello everybody. hope everybody is doing well. since i'm no expert about transformers toys. i was hoping someone here could help me in identifying this toy. so far i know is that this is autobot named jazz. but in a toy standpoint. i don't know what exactly is his class or something. or when this was released or sold. i'm sorry guys i'm really new to the transformers toys. so i don't know what really to ask. that's why i was hoping someone can help me. any details about this toy would be greatly appreciated. many thanks in advance.

That would be Transformers Universe Autobot Jazz, Legends Class, released in 2008:

By current standards, he's the size of a Legion Class figure.

thank you so much JelZe GoldRabbit for taking the time answering about my question. i really appreciate it. wow. this was released 2008?! thats 10 yrs. i hope its okay if i can ask you another question about this toy. i noticed on the gallery of pictures his window on the sides is white. and the jazz version i posted has a black window on the sides. have you ever seen a version of this jazz with a black window before or just lately?

and was this Transformers Universe Autobot Jazz, Legends Class released again after 2008? or this was the last version of it? i'm sorry for so many questions. i'm just really intriqued by this toy.

There has been one other release of that toy in the Japanese Chronicle line with slightly different colors in 2011, but none of the two have painted side windows. Sound like the one you have was stickered, specifically using this set:

How tall is he btw? The standard size for Universe Legends (aka Legion) is around 3 inches.

Power of the Primes Tailgate was only recently released. Looks like someone bought that figure and after removing it without damaging the packaging, they put Jazz in there and resealed it. Not sure if it was to try to sell someone a Tailgate who didn't know what he was getting, or if it was an honest mistake. A very, very long shot, if the packaging is indeed factory sealed (even though I doubt that very much) is somehow a 10-year-old figure was placed in the Tailgate packaging and legit sold. Maybe a factory worker pulled a prank?

It's more than likely a Toy Swap, even with the packaging seemingly pristine. There are techniques to remove the plastic bubble and sticky tape without damaging the cardback, and some stores have very liberal return policies. I have spotted one in the past year, involving a Activator Combiner Bumblebee with his Mini-Con switched out for an Imaginext Lord Zedd, and it was sold on the regular store shelf!

So they are still out there albeit few and far between.

first of all. i want to take you guys for taking the time and sharing your knowledge with me. i really really appreciate it a lot. second, i deleted the picture of the jazz on the box before anything goes out of hand or something. as somebody might use it to scam other people like the toy swap JelZe GoldRabbit mentioned or someone may have pulled a prank like Rodimus Prime said. but i got to hand it to who ever did this. because he even found time to include inside which looks like his weapon or gun of some sort at the bottom. its even in a small sealed plastic. i would take a picture of it if you want. but i think i'm just taking too much of your time guys just for nothing. i think i'm just gonna keep it as it is and keep the receipt just in case i ran in to someone who wants to take a look at it too. again i really really appreciate all of your help guys. this seibertron community is awesome. and very very helpful.

i'm sorry Overcracker but you are right. there's a post you are not seeing. because i already deleted the post with the picture of Jazz inside a PotP Tailgate package. as i mentioned in my last post. JelZe GoldRabbit and Rodimus Prime said that this might be a toy swap or a prank or something. since i'm no expert on toys but you guys here are. and even if this is legit there is no way will i'll be able to verify or prove it. so i'm just gonna go trust JelZe GoldRabbit and Rodimus Prime said. but still i'm gonna keep it as it is. and never be opened. i think its a good conversation piece too, someday. well who ever made this. he/she got a lot of time in their hands making it look its sealed shut. and i even compared it to the one with the real tailgate PotP inside. and the packing is the same down to the transparent tapes. well anyway. i'm no expert. i think even if i show this to hasbro they will just say the same. for whatever the reason and did this. we might never know. and again thank you all guys for the taking the time. have a good one everyone. such a great community.
