E-Bay seller Strata32000 has a Diaclone repro/KO Swoop available. While we are all aware of the G1 Swoop KO/REpro, this color scheme is new. It comes in a G1 Box with Swoop colored as a Diaclone figure. While the figure is very accurate to the originial Diaclone Swoop, the box is the giveaway, just be cautious of loose Diaclone Swoops appearing on e-bay.

wow, not a perfect match to the diaclone version if i remember correct(didnt the dc have gold accents not silver) but i'm still all over that.

EDIT: from looking at it im not sure if its a single custom piece or if its the first of a string of knockoffs. If its a custom i will probably steer clear as i would prefer to purchase it misb.

Looks pretty good. I like the paint scheme. I can't tell if the missles are chrome or silver paint from the pictures. They look kind of silver/gray paint in one of the pictures.

First of all, from reading the auction it appears to me as if it's a custom piece made by the seller himself.

Second, there are many ways to tell if a Diaclone Swoop is real or not. First of all, there are many mold changes between the Diaclone and TF versions. The beak on the Diaclone is sharper (both at the tip and the standing up piece above the eyes), the tail is much sharper, the metal bar between the knees is not there (why they ever did that for the TF version is a mystery to me), the feet are different, and the Diaclone version doesn't have plastic rings around the screws that make the chest slide in and out.

Also, the chrome on the Diaclone version is indeed gold, not silver.

And it should be noted that the quality on the knock-off Swoops is not nearly as good as on the originals, be they TF or Diaclone. The knock-offs don't even stand up straight (the one in the auction is leaned against a white wall), and the launcher falls out of the peg on his wing. You have been warned

Real or knock off. Knock off or custom. I don't care what it is, I like it and wouldn't mind getting my hands on one at a decent price.

If it was a proper reproduction Diaclone Swoop I'd be all over it, but without the gold he looks a bit plain. Shame. Nice custom work otherwise, though.

maybe we will get lucky and Takara will take the blindingly large hint...you know cause they typically do that.

This is a custom and not produced by the same people that do the G1 Swoop replicas. I've spoken with them to confirm.

I really wish Hasbro and Takara could do something to crack down on the KOs that come in these counterfeit boxes. The counterfeit boxes are really going to hurt the legitimacy for Transformer sellers. Who's going to trust buying a pristine G1 Transformer if you can't tell it apart from a KO box?

They don't care about the secondary market.
