I was just wondering how many of you displayed G1 figures aliongside your Classics/Universe, Titanium or A/E/C or if you separated them. If you mingle them, which look the best next to each other, especially when it comes to updates of the originals? Pics would be greatly appreciated and feel free to show off.

My collection is seperated into different lines. The G1s have a glass-door case all of their own and the others have open shelves. The exception to this is that MusicLabel Soundwave is with the Classics and G1 Ravage and Lazerbeak are with him cos they fit in so well.

One day soon I'll put all the Primes (12, 13 is in the post) and Megatrons (11) together so I'll prob do the same for other characters. Don't know who will be in the glass case if I do that though...

I usually split things up by line, mostly cause its easier that way, given limited display space. I have found that the following things work well together in a display:
Alternators Autobot cars
MP Prime,
MP or Cybertron Starscream,
certain Universe/Classics figures (Bumblebee/Cliffjumper),
even certain Animated figures (Grimlock, Jazz)!
Energon Shockblast
Cybertron Soundwave
G1 Sky Lynx.

Have quite a lot of KO's which look good beside certain official TF's.

KO oversized RM Wingstun and Classics Acid Storm

Classics Coneheads and RM seekers

KO oversized Bruticus looks nicely imposing when posed against the G1 originals like Prowl, Sideswipe and Jazz

The similar colour schemes mean Soundblaster, Buzzsaw and oversized RM Wrecker Hook team up nicely

Metroplex, Scorponok, Trypticon and both Tidal Waves look nice among the WSTF's. Classics Astrotrain complements them too.

Both Energon Starscreams, Cybertron Thundercracker and Skywarp and Movie Divebomb look nice together and with the Classics and Titanium seekers.

RM Mirage and Encore Ratchet and Ironhide with custom heads look nice among Prowl, Jazz and their G1 brothers

Movie Wreckage, Blackout, Payload, Hardtop, Incinerator and the Real Gears all look nice among the Diaclones.

Also, the oversized RM's Wingstun and Wrecker Hook look nice among the G2 Laser Rods, Colour Changers and Storm Troopers.

At the mo, I also have G1 Rodimus Prime, Classics Optimus Prime, Vector Prime, RM Optimus Primal, RM Lio Convoy and Classics Leo Prime gathered together with RID Destructicon Scourge lurking nearby.

I mix n match my lines. Ex, I have my Botcon Seekers with my Cls Skywarp, Acid Storm, n Starscream, and tossed in Titanium Sunstorm in the mix as a place holder, but he fits in so well, that he might just become a permant fixture there. Mebe. I know Sunstorm will be released eventually. I throw in Henkei Thrust and Dirge in there too once they come on out. They are different enough to be placed there as different characters in my eyes. Also looking to get Henkei Starscream to replace my Cls Starscream.

I also have City Commander with Titanium Grimlock, Botcon Springer, Energon Arcee, and Cls Hot Rod together.

I like mixing it up like that. They look pretty well together.

I see what you mean regarding the Botcon and Henkei seekers.

I also feel Henkei and US Ramjet are different enough to pass as seperate characters.

One is based on the IDW Starscream wannabe and the other on his Dreamwave/traditional character - "Bring it on you slaggin' cowards!" One of the best TF lines ever.

I have 4 shelves broken as follows:

Top Shelf:
Masterpiece and Alts, along with some minicons and bikes that can pass for 20th - 24th scale. Japan Powerglide is with those too.

2nd shelf:
"Classics" autobots. The quotes are there because any character from any line that can represent a G1 character, and has a similar look to the classics is here. For example, Cybertron Blurr is there. Energon downshift is in for G1 Wheeljack. Stuff like that.

3rd shelf:
"Classics" Decepticons. Same as above, if the look works, they are there. So Musiclabel Soundwave works, as does Energon Galvatron in for Hun-Gurr.

4th Shelf:
Current interest. This is currently my TF Animated stuff. It was my TF Movie stuff, and probably will be again when the next film comes out. But I REALLY like the TF:A line, so who knows.

I have some TF war equipment by my workbench in the basement, and I have the planet-formers out and elsewhere too.

That's my layout.
For Sale:

Currently looking for:

I mix and match a little. Although I keep my nice G1 in a glass self, I put the Classic seekers and Classic Astrotrain with G1 and G2.
Right now I'm living away from home and away from most of my TFs with the exception of my Classics. I recently bought 25th Prime so I opened a Classics Galvatron to display w/ him. Eventually I plan to replace him w/ the new Classics Starscream.

I like my TF displays like I like the food on my dinner plate--very little mixing, unless it makes sense.

G1 is with G1, Alts all together, etc. etc. down the lines. The only exception I have that I can think of is putting the Wal-Mart "movie" exclusive Fracture with my Classics display. Can't see her sitting with movie stuff.

I mix mine TFs all the time. I just got Universe/Classics 2.0 Legends Class Jazz & Hound yesterday, & I put them with my Spychangers. I even threw in G1 Powerglide & Warpath to that mix. They fit so well together.

I even kept a seeker jet collection which includes Classics Starscream & Ramjet, Acid Storm, Cybertron Thundercracker & Skywarp, Armada Thrust, and Universe (1.0) Sunstorm. I missed out on G1 completely so whatever mess I put together will have to do.

I even took my Energon Autobots saving Optimus Prime & Ironhide, and put them with my Universe/Classics 2.0 Autobots. Perfect match.

The top shelf has pretties, including some G1, G1 Reissue, G2, Robot Heroes, Gobots, TMII Megatron, MP Op, 12" Jango Fett with Poison Ivy and a Barbie fawning over him, fossils, crystals, the helmet from Gladiator, and a collection of glass bottles.

The 'fun' shelf has a mix of G2, Energon, Cybertron, Movie, Classics, and Animated TFs at the moment. I've got some Armada kicking around here too...

Anyway, I find that, of the 'main' modern lines, the only ones that stand out are Animated and Movie figures. Classics, RID, AEC, and late G2 don't seem to clash to me. And in smaller numbers, and depending on the figures and who they're standing immediately next to, the animated and movie figures don't really stick out that badly. Beast Wars / Beast Machines is iffy I suppose - they tend to get their own spaces.

Titaniums only strike me as incompatible in their size - the Fallen and Scourge are pathetically small next to most of the Classics figures.

I have some titaniums in with my classics. I don't find most of them to be too "off" in size. In fact, I have each seeker with his Cybertron titanium self right behind, they are almost exactly the same size.

Scourge is a tiny bit small, but I just figure he's one of the swoops and is thus disposable fodder. :D

The rest of my titaniums are MIB, so being off in scale doesn't hurt them.

I too have Tit Scourge in with my Classics. He works well to me. He's a tiny bit shorter than the Seekers, but close enough for me. Plus his stand adds a bit of height.

One good thing about Classics Galvatron being so tiny, he fits in better with Scourge and Fallen.

Too bad Cyclonus will probably throw that set.

Makes me wish I'd gotten Energon Galvatron... Was the Voyager-sized Japanese version of the Energon Megatron mold repainted in Galvatron's colors? He'd be about the right size next to the classics figures.

Edit: I wonder if you could somehow attach Classics Galvatron to Leader Class Energon Megatron's back in jet-mode, in place of that tank drone...

I for the most part keep my figures separated by line. I do have a few random figures actings as stand-ins and place holders. I have the G1 version of Movie Jazz in with my classics Autobots and I plan on getting an Energon Downshift to fill in as classics Wheeljack. I also have music label Soundwave hanging out with my classics Decepticons.

Some Titaniums actually fit well with Classics deluxes, they are actually the same basic size (6 inches)

Problem is some of those figures, like Soundwave should really be a smidge taller than say Classics Prowl, Sideswipe, etc. to fit in scale-wise.

Then again, even G1 didn't do that right.
