Personally I would open...But that's because I don't see the point in leaving it sealed...If you need to leave it sealed because you intend on selling it one day then it makes no difference how cool they are, leave it closed...

But if you have them because you simply wanted them, then open that mess right on up...Transformers are awesome because they transform...If you're going to take that away, then you're left with a box of 12 mediocre looking vehicles...

So says I.

Leave it sealed I too wanted to buy them and would have displayed them as robots but then I saw the bot-modes and thought "these let the Movie bots look really hansom" They looks cooler in alt-mode.

I say open them, but keep the front piece of plastic, and display them inside the box loose in whatever mode you like.

hell, you can even have them climbing out and over to other figures parts of the box, or two or three fighting in another part, almost like an apartmetn building with the front missing so all of the apartmetns show!
Check out my sales thread, plenty of Generations, and Reveal the Shield figures for sale!!

leave it sealed, i managed to take the first clear sheet of plastic off , then examined the box, and it looks like a hell of a job to get the lil tf's outta there, and i feel there are minimalistic chances of the box surviving in a diplayable state

I bought 'em, I opened the box, I opened the cardboard 'apartments' with minimal damage to the brown back side of the card, untied the alt modes and set them free on to my desk. I then managed to put the cardboard back together, get the plastic back on the box and put it up on the high shelf with the rest of the empties and spent some enjoyable time playing with them, liking some of them a lot, liking others a bit less and wondering why the dragon had to be there. The lickle momo bike's cool as a cucumber except it won't stand up un-assisted. Grrr.

I got this set at a, soon-to-be-defunct, Woolworths store in Glasgow a couple of months back but the colours are totally different to the photos on Seibertron (and the one that was on Woolies online site at the time which was as Seibertron's photos). E.G. Seibertron's gallery for Broadside shows him as an appropriately coloured green tank with yellow eyes red and light-green details and the gun turret's the colour of the plastic but in the set I have he's maroon with silver edge detailing no graphics and a black face (eyes, nose, mouth all painted). Oh and not a one of the set has an Autobot or Decepticon symbol, they all have the mini-con 'M in a diamond' despite the packaging having Symbols assigned to each and last but by no means least, different names and teams. The maroon tank is Heavytread of the "Safeguard MC Team".

Is this the same set? And if not what have I got? they were on sale at the sime time as Universe Blaster and Heavy Load (also bought) who match up in every way.

They were, but for some strange reason the weekend before Woolies half-priced all TFs and hadn't put them back up so I paid the £17.50 for the mini-cons (which I had seen at £35 in previous weeks and passed as a result) and I got Blaster and Heavy-Load for half the price of one of them! RESULT!

they usually charge full price in the beginning neways, for e.g. the classics skywarp and magnus set, they charge full price for the first week when it came out then half price after that

I think the variation in colour was down to the early publicity shots being of the original toys, rather than the Universe repaints. I'm sure I read that on here a while ago... can't remember how far back, though.

As for standing Blight up, swivel the legs around on their ball-joints when you transform it (so that they're effectively backwards / inside-out); it improved balance greatly on mine. Unfortunately I'm not near my collection at the moment, so I can't provide a photo.

Wirecutters, just snip the twisties and you won't have to damage the box at all. That's what I still haven't done yet  .

Cheers Autoclot, tried, tested and true! I actually followed you then took a look at the box which is still lying around from being pulled down while writing my earlier resonse and he looks your way on the box and there are mold lines on the tosro and thighs that line up, I've been misforming him, D'Oh!

What a damn good idea, I'll need to get me a pair of them in time for the 2009 buys to begin. I could have done with them for Animated Grimlock, I hate having to take the bubble off the card to get to the twists and AG was a pain due to the amount of twists holding the limbs.

Happy New Year fae Bonny Scotland BTW!

Don't listen to 'Lekky up there, He's 'English' as they say. Wirecutters are far more accurate in the shaky hands of a whiskey man like myself. Hop aboard laddie!
