Like I said I am working on someplace that you guys can go until we smooth things out here.

I'm sorry, I can't help it. When our Philosophers Forum was taken away, we had to gravitate to another thread about another closed forum in order to compensate......

I know that's off topic Bishop and I'm sorry, but I agree with whoever said it earlier in this thread: things around here are on the decline. The Philosophers, now Carbombya, what's next? I figure it's not your alls' fault as the moderators and the people running the works here, but it's due to some of our members being jackasses. I have no ideas for fixing the problems, I think I'm just weighing in. Ever since the summer it just seems that people are ruining our good time.....or at least parts of it. Sad.

Thats why I said the site gets worse and worse. You cant avoid conflict. You can't close down stuff because people argue. People always argue. its what happens when you express an opinion.

The problem is with what you said is that you pay nothing to use the site. If you were paying money like a subscription web site that started deleting content, I could see getting mad, but you do not pay to use this site. The financial burden falls on Ryan, so if he feels something is putting the site at risk, it is for him to decide what to do because he is the only one who gets affected.

I was planning on buying a THS-01 on Carbombya. Personally, I thank Ryan because he prevented me from possibly being scammed out of a lot of money. No matter how safe a deal looks, there is always the possibility of a scam.
I still want a Ths-01 though.
And that's why I'd like something like Carbombya back. But here's how I'd like the feature to work so that I would be safe:
I'd like the poster to post a picture of the item in question so I know they actually have it. I'd also like one of the many many many necessary Carbombya mods to look into the seller's history (and they're welcome to check mine too) to see if the seller has been a known troublemaker or if they are well liked and trusted. I'd also like to see a picture of the seller's collection so I know if they are a real fan and not some random person preying on TFfans. I would be far more likely to trust someone that has an extensive collection and genuinely likes the franchise. Someone who just so happens to have exactly what I'm looking for but strangely has nothing else looks suspicious to me.

Just some thoughts. But if Carbombya never comes back then it's not like it's the end of Seibertron or anything.

Ryan,

I don't normally address you by name in any kind of posts because I think it's rude.

Carbombya is gone and that's ok. I'm actually surprised at how many people are complaining about it. What I'd actually like to know is whether or not I can buy your Superlink Megazarak for a reasonable price?

People are going to have many varied opions that I do not care about, so how about selling me that Megazarak?

I didn't know there were all these problems.
I've never had anything but success in carbombya.

It's a shame that the forum had to be closed but it's probably for the best.

As far as disclaimers go, they are not waivers of liability. Without getting into too much legal speak, any disclaimer can be rendered void in part or whole based upon legal considerations in a given case. A lot of it has to do with the way a disclaimer is worded.

The best way to handle this BST is to do as Ryan has advised. If you want to buy, sell, or trade, you should go through another website like http://tfieds.com/ that are not associated with this site, therefore leaving no legal liability to Ryan, nor would it require the sequestering of information from this site if a situation ever came to that.

I also would suggest maybe everyone start using the Toy Sightings Forum and possibly expanding it to include wants. If you come across an amazing find, post it. If you want a particular figure, you could post what you are looking for and people can either post where they saw it at a local store or post a link to where they found it on the web which could include sites like internet stores, tfieds.com, or ebay. No deals or discussions about selling on this site. First offense could be a temporary ban, repeat offense could be a permanent ban.

As far as ebay goes, maybe a sticky could be put up that would allow members to add their user name for ebay; no auction details, just a simple, "My user name is..." Any posts with additional info would get deleted. You could then add those people to your favorite sellers and check them periodically or look them up individually when you are looking for something in particular. Ebay allows you to privately message each other back and forth. Deals would then be made through ebay and away from this site. Ebay and PayPal would be responsible for settling any disputes that route. The other upside to a system like that would be you could see the members post count and how long they have been a member here and cross reference that with seller info on Ebay to make a little better decision on who you trust to buy from and reduce the likelihood of scammers.

Would you consider allowing another forum member to write the code? Surely, there must be a reliable coder among us.

Nope, its based on the countries you are doing business in.

However, this is a free service which may void the due diligence needed by the site.

:-? I was the guy selling the THS-01's, was there another person? If not... why you calling me a scammer?

"Possibly"

He doesn't know you just like none of us really know each other. EVERYONE is a possible scammer until you have successfully dealt with them yourself. That was Seib's main point in the first place. If everyone just treated BST in that fashion, imo, most of this trouble could have been avoided.
