I wonder what goes in the designing process... I mean, the figures look fantastic, I love the Lugnut mold... but who's call was it to make it small? Did someone not get a memo of sizes or something? I just can't see why he and Bulkhead are so dang tiny when you see the size of Prime.
I know that Lugnut and Bulkhead and larger girth-wise, but the height is embarrassing if BLACK ARACHNIA is taller then them...
I know its unlikely of a Leader-Class Lugnut, but this is the first line since Beast Wars where I've wanted all the toys, and while I'm not super-picky about scale, this is pretty bad...

Now you see my point.

I guess the designers doesn't communicate with the animators.

Because he is way off scale.

And what's keeping Hasbro from making a Leader Class Lugnut anyways???

He is one of the most popular Cons and totally devoted to Megatron.

There's 2 Leader Class Autobots while only one Decepticon.

So why not Lugnut??

A leader class is must-have for ALL kids of All ages!! 8)

There were only 3 Leader-Class figs for the movie, perhaps that's their magic number for that class size?

To be honest, I'd be satisfied with a Lugnut if it were proper Voyager sized, like Optimus or Starscream

Of the current lineup, Magnus is the largest autobot, the most powerful autobot, and the highest ranking autobot. Lugnut is a one-note subordinate Megatron-loyalist.

That's why Magnus gets the leader-class, and judging from a recent thread on this forum, it's one of the more highly anticipated toys in the line.

It does not change how I feel about him however. On the show he is more or less the same height as Starscream.

By keeping my Prime to deluxe size to go with Sentinel, Voyager Magnus would fit right in. Allowing for Magnus, Bulkhead and Starscream, and Lugnut to all be the same height.

You know it makes sense.

In scale terms the autobots are mostly oversized, but no one complains about voyager optimus being too big. They'd rather complain about voyager Bulkhead being too small.

No one's complaining because we all knew there was going to be a bigger Prime toy (Look at Beast Wars, Optimus Primal was huge) and we can choose a deluxe if we want.

Everyone's happy to get a voyager Optimus, and then a Leader Bulkhead and Ultra Magnus to go with that. Yet in terms of the Decepticons, they're all too big. Megatron should be significantly bigger than all other characters.

Megatron should be significantly bigger than all other characters.

He is, The Leader Class Megatron is the biggest so far.

Followed by Voyager Starscream

then Deluxe Blitzwing and Black Arachnia.

It's Voyager Lugnut that is the problem as the smallest Decepticon even the deluxe classes are taller than him.

It shouldn't be a problem for Hasbro to fix that major oversight by making a Leader version of Lugnut.

He is getting popular with the kiddies after all

Here's the thing though. Unless his Voyager toy does well there's a much slimmer chance of the Leader ever being considered. So everyone who wants a Leader Lugnut should buy a Voyager Lugnut.

It'll be important to buy the other Leader figures as well. If the ones they are bringing out don't sell, they're not likely to think "There's obviously a demand for Leader class stuff, better throw out some more."

I hope it's not because you're holding out for Leader Class. Hasbro clearly said that they have no foreseeable plans for anything but a Voyager Class Lugnut.

And if he's being released along with wave 1 on June 22nd...I'll be one of the first to grab him up.

He rocks.

I think if the designer made part of the tail of his bomber part of his legs then he'll be a Voyager height.

But instead, it becomes a power mace that he doesn't even use or have on the Animated series

It even show Animated Voyager Starscream with his legs not fully stretched out way taller than Lugnut.

I agree, well I don't know if he would be adequately tall, but he would at least be less of a shrimp.

The designers need to look harder at using every part. There's also ways of bulking up a figure without loosing height. If the bot mode folded out and expanded until it was literally a hollow shell, they could probably get it a lot closer to the size he needs to be.

Then you missed Wreck-Gar's debut. Lugnut uses the mace in that episode. Granted, it's not much of an impact (no pun intended) and that's all we see of it, but he does actually use it.

I'll say this...I love Animated enough that I'll support Hasbro and buy two of the same toy if they release a Leader Class Lugnut down the road, even though I'm buying this version.

Personally, I'll get over it in time. I did with Movie Blackout and Bonecrusher. After a while you have to realize that it costs them millions of dollars on a risky gamble and not a lot of us can afford to buy the Leader price class, so they have to decide who makes it and who doesn't. Especially when you consider parents and kids are the primary buyers.

This is the thing. What character makes which class size is more of a business decision than a scale decision. It's not about whether it needs to be this size, it's whether it'll sell.

Universe Classic Series Galvatron being a mere deluxe bothers me more. To me that's just a bad decision, whereas the scale problem with having Lugnut as a voyager I may not like, but I can at least understand the reasoning.
