There's definite potential for the animated version. I generally only watch PR occasionally for the comedy value (rubber suits and, let's face it, at best questionable plotting and acting), but as I've said before, trying to make a Japanese show look like it's American never works, especially when they also feel they have to dumb it down for Western kids.

In fact the only thing that concerns me about the animated version is that Disney's doing it. They've done some good stuff in their time, I'm just not sure whether they'll be able to pull off this kind of show properly. Could be interesting though.

Power Rangers is going to be animated? What's the matter? Unable to find any good stories and people to do more live action series?

Not that I care... I'm getting sick and tired of Power Rangers.
