I'm getting tired of repeating myself.

This is not a remake!

Right now it isn't anything, just an entry on the imdb.

Lottsa movies get pitched, then disappear into the aether. The live-action Evangelion movie's proof of that.

I will most likely go to see this film. Predator's are just cool looking, and they aren't CG, which I like. CG was cool for awhile, but honestly, a guy in a suit or a puppet is more believable for me. However, CG should definitely be used when a guy in a suit isn't possible or for big dangerous explosions or fast action sequences.

Anyway, Predator 2 is a good movie. I think I'll watch it again tommorrow, been meaning too anyway. In some respects I like it more than the first one.

As for AVP, the first one was kinda dull. However, it had a sci-fi story, and a reasonable connection between the two franchises. So overall, not a bad movie, just one that for some reason never really hits a high and exciting note for me.

The second movie on the other hand, stinks. Really, really stinks. Why? Well, bad lighting for one, it's really hard to tell what's going on in a lot of scenes. The laser fence the Predator sets up in the sewer is cool, but you can't really see to enjoy it.

The story is bad, and what's up with the Predator erasing all traces of the Alien lifeform? They never really explain it. Then of course, the Predator skins an officer and leaves his corpse hanging in the woods for all too see. That won't make anyone suspicious, no...

Oh, and then there's the characters. Too many of them show up and get killed off immediately, like the guys in the pawn shop, and none of them are really likeable. And Dallas's girlfriend, did they really need to kill her? I mean, she literally gets killed by accident, nearly at the end of the movie! Meaning her death had no real impact on Dallas's character, if he even really has one. Oh yeah, and what's up with naming him Dallas? Is he supposed to be the Dallas from the original Alien, or just an homage? I'm thinking homage, but who knows.

Overall, the only good things about AVP were some of the fight sequences, the Predator was actually tough in this one whereas in the first one he was kinda weak, and I'm impressed they actually nuke the town. A lot of times in movies they say they're gonna nuke something but they never do.

i like a mix of models/ puppets/suits with cgi.

models can hold the test of time if done right, cgi doesnt (exceptions apply).

This sounds cool. Though its a shame that we might not ever see another AVP movie again. I liked the first two movies, though i felt there was still so much more potential they could have had. We'll see how this movie pans out.

Actually I liked that she died even the way she did, sure it sucks but it brakes the standard clishe that the couple always survives and goes on to live a happy life and her death did have an impact on him he had a mental breakdown and attacked the Predator. And the Predator in AVP1 was week as that was his first hunt to become a "man" he was nothing but a teen trying to prove himself while the one in AVP2 was a skilled and experienced hunter.

Answer to general question: People did not like Predator 2 because they put Danny Glover against this thing, when Arnold/Jesse/Carl/and company could not even beat one and they were like one step down from being super soldiers.

Danny Glover defeating a Predator on his own basically with a pistol made it silly to some.

Also, I think many wanted to see the return of Dutch, or something that followed closer to the comic book series at the time.

Sure Predator 3 might be cool, but I'll wait for DVD, and I used to like Predator stories, why, I'm not sure. Batman Versus Predator would be an even better movie to make though...I know, that's an original idea...

Are you referring to the comic book(which I've yet to read), or the fan-film? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjp0I_okX0w

Both, the comic was cool, but the fan made movie shows just what might be able to be done...

Hey Predaprince, do you happen to know if the new Predator movie is going to be a remake? I'm not clear on if it is or not...
