As I recall, I don't think Sam ever went way back in time, it was usually 40s–70s etc. I always liked how at the end of each episode, he would leap into someone at the worst possible time.

There was a Civil War era episode, too. Sam leaped into his great-great-grandfather.

I hated the last episode. It just felt so loose ended.
Saying that, I adore the series and have series 1-4 on DVD.

All they had to do was to have Sam leap back to his own body
But no.....
Burn wrote:"Oh boy" did indeed finish off the show, though I think there was one ep where something else was said, but I can't remember.
Brilliant show, one of the best tv shows ever I feel.
But a big screen version? No. Absoloutely not. The series was perfectly ended. I would not want that to be changed in any way whatsoever.

I disagree. I hated the fact that he never leaped home.

Whereas if he'd returned home, well that just left things open for them to continue (and no doubt screw up) the series years later.
