Hey all! Been a while since my last post.

I'm in Japan right now and I've come upon a rather rare find: It's a black ROTF Optimus Prime, the one that was distributed with the ROTF DVD. I've included a picture in the files if you'd like to know what I'm talking about. But the thing is, it's so rare that there's like, so little evidence of the thing online!

I've seen them go for around 300 on EBay, but I have a problem. It would be a sick display piece out of the box, but I have no idea what that would do to the price. Also, it's run out of batteries so opening it would allow me to replace them and see if it speaks Japanese which is also very cool.

So, is it worth it to leave it in the box?

I would say it depends on how you need the money. I could see this getting rarer by the years, but if you think would enjoy it, open the box.
I will admit I'm no expert to how much the price varies opened or not.

Toys are made to be played with. I'd open it and display it happily. Even open it's going to be worth a lot more than you paid if you want to sell it later.
